Damien's POV:
The past few weeks had been intense, to say the least. After everything with Leah and the rogues, I wasn't taking any chances. I fortified the pack borders and doubled the patrols, making sure every inch of our territory was secure. I had my best warriors stationed at key points, and I personally oversaw the setup of additional surveillance. I wasn't going to let anything slip through, especially now that I knew the kind of danger we were facing. The thought of someone coming after Leslie again, or worse, our unborn children, made my blood run cold.
But in the middle of all the chaos and preparations, Leslie and I had found our own rhythm. There was a fire between us now, an intensity that hadn't been there before. Maybe it was the pregnancy, or maybe it was the fact that we were finally, truly bonded, but things had changed between us—and I couldn't say I wasn't loving every second of it.
