Damien's POV
The light streaming in through the window gave the room a soft, golden glow. I watched as Leslie stirred beside me, her eyes fluttering open, still drowsy from sleep. It had been days since she had woken up with no memory of her past, and every moment since then had been a balancing act—trying to keep her calm, to keep her from asking too many questions, while I figured out what the hell was happening. I was glad that I could touch her even sleep with her without her panicking like she used to. Her traumas had gone with her memory. I could now hold my mate and she would cherish my every touch and embrace.
She rolled over, facing me with a sleepy smile. "Good morning," she murmured, her voice still laced with sleep.
I smiled back, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. "Good morning," I whispered.
