Chapter 19 - I'll Commit Suicide And Become Stronger, Okay?

'This must be seriously bothering her, isn't it?' Bob stared Freya in the eyes, and he clenched his hand into fists, 'If she had doubts on this, then why did she ally herself with me? Things should not be this complicated. After all, we humans can be no better than demons.'

"I am human." Bob sighed, then reached out his hand, clapping Freya's cheeks, "Don't worry, I'm definitely not lying to earn your trust and kill you when the time is right. It's not like I have what it'll take to do that, and worse, but you have to trust me anyway."

Freya sighed, turning away from Bob and casting her gaze to the ground, "Then, how are you so strong? It should be against the rules to be this strong in the lower areas, and I can imagine various people wanting to keep your power for themselves, myself included."

"You want me all to yourself? Uh, is this the part where I say I am not interested?" Bob frowned, then held his chin, seeing some reason in her thought. He was practically flaunting his power, and in due time, the effects would presents themselves, "I could be in big trouble."

"Is that all you got from that conversation? Seriously?" Freya stared at Bob and he stared back.

Bob entered deeper thought levels, 'Although this is no reason to hide. Infect, now that I am on the higher areas I need to carry out my plans to build an army of loyal mobs. Once my army grows, then no matter the fool, they won't be strong enough to stop me!'

"Freya and demon—Aquarius, wait for me. I have some unfinished business to complete on the past floors." Bob announced, turning from Freya to Aquarius who sat staring at the walls intently as it had its tongue out. Bob sighed, "Just don't do anything stupid."

Freya stared at Bob with her eyes narrowed, but she nodded her head in agreement. Once she gave her approval, Bob turned around and returned to the dark path. He blinked twice. The room had changed, and was now well illuminated, causing him to frown, "Huh?"

Anyways, that was less of his bossiness now. Bob took out a dagger from his inventory — the legendary flame serpent fangs, and buried it in his chest! There was no one in sight, and Bob was not surprised. As his blood splattered all over the ground, Bob forced a smile on his lips.

"Oh, I missed my heart." Bob frowned, then he pulled the dagger out of his chest, then struck it again and this time his eyes widened, and vision dimmed. He staggered forward, then heard a creak from behind him, "She followed me? What a pain…"

"Wait… NO! My gold!" Bob's eyes widened as he cried out in pain. All his dreams of buying new clothes, better weapons and building a mansion were dashed in an instant, "Of course. Hehe. There had to be some sort of catch somewhere. Hehe… Haha! Oh my god, I want to kill the developer."

'And still one point per death? Even after all the gold I sacrificed?' Bob stood mortified, his eyes twitching and brows knitted. If looks could kill, then the screen before him would be butchered to an immeasurable number of— huh?

"Passive? Does this mean it's always on?" Bob took out a torch from his inventory, and the area around him lit up, and seeing it, Bob's lips curled into a cold smile. Three Level 1 wolves spawned in his absence, and they glared at him warily, "Hmm. Why would I need such a skill."

One of the wolves, the biggest of the pack, rushed forward to attack the unwelcome guest. Bob's eyes gleamed, and he reached out a hand, grabbing the wolf by the head then throwing it into a wall, watching it crash — shattering bones and letting out a pained whimper as it crawled to its feet.

The others began to retreat, but Bob turned to them and fixated his gaze. Under his gaze, they shivered and he smiled, stepping forward with a cold gleam in his eyes, "Look at me, puppies." The smile on his face grew, "Today, we are going to play a game."

——

"Where's the worm?" Bob looked around, but the room had changed from what he remembered. It was replaced by a smaller space with the smell of blood clogging his nostrils, making it hard for his nose to function, "And, why does this place smell so bad?"

The three wolves held in his hand weren't as persistent as Aquarius, and stopped struggling the minute he stepped into this room. Their growling had turned into whimpers. Bob noticed this, "Even though I don't know much about wolves, do they see something I don't?"

His perception stat was over 150, there was nothing in this room he could not sense! Bob smiled and connected himself to the room, feeling around every inch of it with his developed senses. After a while, he found it! Deep in the ground, it was moving at a slow pace, trying to be sneaky.

"If you can beat that monster, I will give you lots of food and power." Bob grinned. After meeting Aquarius, he knew that even at Level 1, these blue wolves had intelligence, somewhat, "If you try me by acting too smart, I'll make a meal out of you."

Bob grinned, then he hurled the three small wolves into the air. They yelped as they flew, until they all crashed into the walls and slid to the ground. Bob snapped a finger, and they cried, what he guessed to be pain rippling through their bodies as their sizes began to grow.

Soon, they evolved into three massive wolves as their blue fur attained a glow. Out of the three, one of them — the one who'd attacked Bob earlier — had a brighter glow than the others. It stood with the others, their curious gaze fixated on Bob.

"So, how does the petting system work?" Bob stood as the thing he felt burst out of the ground, lunging for him as he ignored it completely. One of the wolves, feeling the sudden surge in strength, attacked it, slapping the worm to the ground in a splatter of blood as Bob rubbed his chin, "Hmm?"

Three more wyrms dashed out of the earth, opening their mouth wide to reveal rows upon rows of serrated teeth, Bob grinned watching them, and a second wolf dashed into action, swiping its paw and sending a wyrm flying until it slammed into a wall and exploded in a splash of blood.

The last duo of the wyrms tried to escape, but an ear piercing howl shattered the silence and in a flash of blue light, the head of a wyrm was severed from its circular body. The other wyrm burst into the ground with its head, but the wolf landed on the ground and slapped down — hard.

"Oh, a special type monster?" Bob's gaze turned sharp as blood rained on the ground. The thick stench of blood grew, threatening to clog his nostrils, but Bob stood with a cold gleam in his eyes, "I wonder what lies ahead in the other rooms?"
