Chapter 15 - The dinner 3

"My boss. He was my new boss," she said, and everyone looked at her. "You are not being accused of cheating, Adam. I heard and saw you doing it. Besides, even if I sleep around now, what does it have to do with you? You brazen enough to take your mistress home thinking I would be away with the girls, so why can't I?"

Adam cle cheddar his fists, but his words were swallowed when Mr. Crawford slammed a hand on the table, and Selena and Lily gasped.

"What did she mean she saw you do it?" Mr Crawford would have tried to intervene if this only based on speculation or a hear say. But he was actually caught on the spot . The boy still wants to deny it.

"Grandfather it's not…" Adam started but went silent when Alex chuckled.

"Sounds to me that you are irredeemable," He uttered with a smirk. But now he understood why Sara wouldn't want any relationships anymore. Especially nit after such an experience.

"Uncle…"

"Enough Adam," Mr Crawford massaged his temple, feeling a headache coming. He had heard rumors in the past about the boy, but he thought he changed after his engagement with Sara. Who would have thought that the boy had no shame.

"Miss Ambrose decided to call 8ff the engagement based on facts and niy speculations. I do not see a reason wrong with that," Sean uttered, and his wife nodded in agreement.

"Is there way thay he could be forgiven, Sara, my child?" Mr Crawford asked. He couldn't guarantee that Adam wouldn't cheat and would be fateful, but he could promise to keep a close eye on him and help her put a leash around the boy. Their engagement was far too previous to lose. Adam may not know that, and neither might Sara, but she couldn't be let go of.

He glared sharply at Adama for what he had done, but there was nothing that could be done now. The deed had already been done, and now all that they could do was try to make amends.

"I have made my decision, Grandpa. I am sorry," Sara replied. Eyes instinctively moved to Alex, whose gaze was fixated on her, and a smirk at the corner of his lips.

Such a shame," Mr Crawford sighed. He felt powerless right now. "I am sorry for all that you have to go through…" Mr Crawfords voice trailed off when he heard someone walking speedily and angrily towards them. Looking in the direction, he saw his granddaughter coming, and it was obvious that she was not happy.

"Why am I onky hearing people blaming my brother but this b*tch?" She raised even before she could seat. She didn't even bother greeting her grandfather and parents.

"Hage no manners at all, Liv?" Lily asked quite embarrassed that her daughter was being rude in front of her grandfather. Alexander was there too, and everyone knew that Alex hated noise and such unruly behavior. Knowing the old man, if Alex were to get angry, Olivia would be in serious trouble.

"Give your grandfather and uncles some respect," Dominic said. As painful as it was to say that especially since Alex or Kayden as their father still calls him, was the you gest yet had more power in the family than anyone else, they had to acknowledge him even if they didn't want to.

Olivia seemed taken aback by being reprimanded by her parents. And as uf realizing for the first time, she turned to her grandfather and greeted and darted her eyes at the unfamiliar young man. 'Could he be…' she looked at her mother, who fave her a nod. 'What?!' She she exclaimed.

"Uncle Kay…" he glared at her ansnshe swallowed the lump that formed in her throat. "Uncle Alexander," she gritted through clenched teeth, inwardly blaming him for changing his name from what was registered in the family.

"It runs in the family, I see," Alex commented, but thr all seemed lost. "Illiteracy. Althoigh they are both well educated, they are still illiterate," he said as he looked between Adam and Olivia.

"Sit down and do not interrupt us again," Mr Crawford ordered, and Olivia sat with a pout.

Adam couldn't before angry. Alex wasn't much older than him, yet because he was born of the older generation, Alex could look down on him and even insult while he just kept quiet and took it all in. Two years wasn't thay bug areal was it? So why the huge gap between them?

"But Grandfather, Sara is not all that innocent too, you know…?" Olivia's voice brought him out of his thought.

"We have been throigh this already, Olivia," it was Dominic's turn to sight and massaged his temple. The children weren't helping here at all.

"But I have proof," she said and brought out her phone.

"Leave it be, Liv," Adam said, but she refused.

"I'll show it to you all," opening the photo app, she displayed a picture of Sara walking into a hotel together and another inside and elevator. But the man's wasn't visible. Somehow, they blurred it. "See? He is still so young, yet she'll claims he is her boss. I bet her boss is an old man."

Sara laughed, and Alex chuckled, drawing everyone's attention to themselves.

"I am sorry i have to drag you into this, Boss," Sara said her eyes on Alex, who seemed truly amazed as well angered to have been called old. He may have a nephew who is already an adult in his late twenties and a niece who was about seventeen—or eighteen, but that didn't make him old.

He was thirty, for goodness sake!

"What do you mean?" Adam asked. His fists clenched as he realized who she was talking to, but he refused to believe it.

Olivia's face paled as she also realized it.

"Mr Legend is my old man boss," Sara uttered, and silence engulfed the dining room.

On the other side, Sean and hus wife resigned themselves to the roles of spectators. None of this concerned them anymore.

"Is this true, Kayden?" Mr Crawfird asked even if it was already as clear as day. As long hendid nit deny it, it was the truth. As long as he proposed it, then so shall it be. Whatever he opposes shall not be accepted. This was like a motto the family had come to understand and grind themselves into. It was always Kayden Crawford or Alexander Legend as people know him now.

"It is," he agreed. He placed his endows on the table and intertwined his fingers together. "And if I am being accused of sleeping with Ambrose, I don't mind taking responsibility for her. I mean, she is a woman amongst women. Who wouldn't want her?"
