Liam stared at the three girls in horror, he saw the speed in which they used to enter the room, he could only say it was inhuman and that wasn't what really gave him goosebumps.
What did was the fact that everything they seemed to say today seemed true.
"Damnit, he escaped!!!"
"Sophia do your thing while we go after Noah"
With that the two other girls junped out of the window shocking Liam and his roommates.
This was a huge and tall building and this was not just any floor, this was the 15th floor, jumping from here on a whim looked suicide if it wasn't a mental issue.
Sophia turned towards them, her eyes shining with a white light.
Wait, don't tell me her thing was us?
Liam was scared shit as he saw her eyes flickering with white light as she stared at them.
The white light got brighter and then Sophia opened her mouth as if saying something.
Yeah she said something, something Liam couldn't understand.

And then she jumped out of the window.
Liam slowly opened his eyes, still wondering what just happened.
He looked at the room and the scene he saw shocked him, the corpse, the scattered and broken windows looked.... Fixed? Or rather looked like nothing ever happened
Liam couldn't see Daniel.
"What are we doing here?" Just then, one of Liam's roommate asked glancing at the room in confusion.
"Yes, what are we doing here" The other one asked in same confusion.
Liam stared at them in shock.
"She wiped their memory" Just then Max's voice broke Liam's train of thought. Liam was shocked as he looked at Max.
What did he mean? She wiped their memories? Was that even possible?
"How do you know? And also why wasn't yours wiped, are you one of them?" Liam looked at Max warily as he asked.
"I am not" Max said shaking his head, then he looked at Liam "it seems like you became special too"
"I became special too? What's that?" Liam was really confused, at this moment he actually thought he was dreaming because he just didn't understand.
"What's wrong with you guys? What are we doing here? How did we even get here I thought we were playing cards?" The tallest one out of Liam's roommate asked.
"I also want to know the answer to that too Jack" Surprisingly it was Max that answered.
Liam stared at Max in confusion, he knew the answer, and Max did too, even more than him, so he couldn't tell why Max acted so secretive just now.
"Let's get out of here first" Max continued.
The four of them walked out of the room, as they walked to their room Max slowed down and whispered to Liam.
"I know you are shocked about what you experienced today and you might be wondering why I hid it from Jack and Lucas, but that is the safe thing to do"
Safe thing to do?
Liam stared at Max, he didn't know why but he felt his world spinning and he couldn't believe what had just happened.
He had so many questions.
What killed Daniel?
Who were those girls?
How did she wipe away their memory?
And if she meant to wipe all 4 of their memories why didn't it work on Him and Max?
Who was Max? And just what was going on?
Max seeing the look on Liam's face knew that his good friend didn't trust him anymore.
"Hey Jack and Lucas, we will be back soon, I and Liam have something to go get" Max said as he dragged Liam's hand to walk away.
"What do you want to get? Ain't you guys confused about how we got to Daniel's room? I and Jack will go check the cameras" Lucas the shortest among them shouted.
"Go on" Max replied. "Give us feedback on what you got from the research, when we get back"
Max dragged Liam away, as they got far enough from the other two, Max let go of Liam's hand.
Liam just stared at him waiting for an explanation.
"I know you won't believe me, but I am not one of them" Max began after taking a deep breath, "I started seeing things and hearing stuffs since five days ago, you remember the roar few minutes ago, I heard it but I didn't expect you to hear it too" Max said staring at Liam.
"You might think I know something but I don't, I am as confused as you are" He continued seeing Liam's silence.
"What do you mean by 'it seemed I became special too'?" Liam finally asked after his long silence.
"As I said before I started hearing and seeing stuffs since 5 days ago, I think you too must have come into contact with whatever changed me" Max replied.
Liam just felt more confused, everything sounded like a movie, and it seemed like max didn't even know what was going on.
"And how did you know she was wiping our memories?" Liam asked changing the question since it seemed like Max didn't have much intel on what was happening to them.
"That's because she spoke Latin, and you remember I learnt Latin a little, what she said meant forget what you saw" Max replied.
Liam remained silent trying to process what was happening.
"And why I didn't involve Jack and Lucas was because we don't know what those people are and what they will do to us once they find out that our memories can't be wiped, and also Lucas and Jack can't remember a thing, so how do we explain it to them?" Max said.
Liam contemplated on what Max just said and it made sense, it would be better not to say a thing to them.
Meanwhile, within the school environment a man dressed in pure black suit, wore a black sun glasses with a black hat and held a black suitcase, scrutinized the students who were chatting and laughing in the school with a frown.
He held the device in his ear as he spoke out.
"Sir the gas leaked more than we thought many students seemed to have inhaled the gas, what do we do?"
"Hmmm" A deep voice sounded from the device.
