Chapter 18 - 18. RUINED DINNER

Arianna

"You let a guy tongue fuck you?!" My best friend screeched three days later after she came back from her trip to Hawaii and Vincent disappeared for days because of work after our last encounter where he basically made me come on his tongue.

Only texts and small calls to know he still is watching me. Not that I care.

I couldn't let him believe that he has won and that he have left a big effect on me. I will make him fight for me.

"Shhh! Not so loud!" I hissed, worried that people will overhear our dirty conversation because we were in the coffee shop. My favorite.

Nicole waves her hand like it's nothing," Nobody is listening. So...how did this even happen? Where did you meet him?"

I started to regret to even mentioning her about him. She doesn't know that he is my stalker so I will probably get yelled at when she learns about the truth.

Things like - 'Don't talk to that creep, Arianna.' 'He can't see you. He is stalking you so don't speak with him. Don't go anywhere alone with him!' And many similar phrases.

I totally would agree. I should.

"Um, there was an accident two blocks away and I saw him investigating the crime scene. He is a detective and-"

"No shit! You're seeing a real life cop?" She asked incredulously.

"Not really a cop. He investigates cases which involves murder, unsolved crimes so I just walked up to him and asked him for directions," I lied, coming up with a story, not telling her that he is also my favorite author of dark romance novels.

She might try to stalk and find out who he is or something. She will say that a killer is blackmailing me to satisfy his needs since I've never gave myself to anyone before. I believe in love and happily ever after since I was too good from her perspective.

"And what? What happened then? How did he take off your clothes then? You were casually strolling through the crime scene with a dead body just laying there and he just threw you on the ground with the blood and shit, and ate you out? That's creepy if I say so," She shook her head with disbelief and once her words hit my brain, I started laughing.

"Jesus Christ Nicole!" I laughed."Are you kidding me? No, that's not what happened, oh my god!" I continued to laugh at how stupid her mind could be," He gave me his number in case I need a tour in the town because I might have lied about me just moving recently from the city to a new hometown."

Nicole snorted," That's really cheeky. I didn't know my naive girl was capable of lying and being so bold," she winked when she sipped her iced Americano with the straw between her lips.

"Eh, I don't know. It's just kinda happened," I shrugged like it's not a big deal.

"So is he hot?" Nicole smirked and I almost choked on my hot chocolate when she looked at me with a knowing look.

Vincent was more than hot.

Dark, brooding , mysterious, intelligent eyes with a smirk that could kill...that can kill me. Already did.

The man was gorgeous and sexy as sin.

And my first thought when he smiled at me is wow. That wicked mouth . The full lips. That perfect jawline. But that's not the only thing that made me swoon. His voice sent chills down my spine. That rich baritone. Deep and low. A little rough but also soft in a way that made me feel like I am melting into the floor.

Jesus, get a grip Ariannna.

I sounded like I was in love.

"What's his name?" Nicole prodded further and I tried to calm myself by taking a sip of my hot drink before I answered.

I wasn't ready to tell my best friend anything about Vincent because the more lies I feed her, it will be harder to keep the truth hidden from her and eventually she will figure it out and then there will be hell to pay.

She was my best friend and always wanted me to be happy but once she knows that Vincent has been spying on me for years, she will hate me forever.

She will be so mad at me for lying to her face...for lying about my feelings. For lying to her about everything.

I can't lose her too. Because even though I may want this, the reality is I never thought about it seriously until now, and that is why I'm currently freaking out about it.

"Vincent. His name is Vincent," at least that's the truth .

Her brown eyes widened in shock and I knew she heard right. That she heard that 'Vincent' is the name of one of the men whose face has been plastered all over the newspapers lately and magazines and websites. She saw them too. I think the whole world has seen them. He was a hero for saving innocent lives from criminals.

Ironically he was the criminal himself.

At least that was a good thing he was a detective. That means people respect him. No one knows what lies beneath the surface. How dark it is.

"You mean that Vincent? The famous Sherlock Holmes guy? That hottie?" Nicole almost chokes on her drink, looking at me with wide eyes and her eyebrows raised high up in surprise.

"Uh, yeah. Him," I blush when she continues to stare at me as if I had grown another head.

"You're not really pulling my leg, aren't you?" She said, trying to hide her glee.

"Nope," I answer and she laughs.

"Wow, Ari! I knew you had some secrets but..." She giggles like she's going crazy, "You met the guy, went home and got go down on you? Wow, I'm still in shock," She shakes her head disbelievingly.

My stomach dropped. She's going to think I'm a slut for making out with a stranger, no matter how handsome they are.

"Hey! I'm not a whore!" I hissed at her.

"I know that you're not. I just still can't believe that your first kiss and oral sex were with a famous and sexy detective! Damn, you lucky bitch!," Nicole laughed, still shaking her head.

"Keep your voice down, I don't want the whole town to know about it," I rolled my eyes while covering my ears with my hands, my face turning redder by every second.

I still feel his hot tongue on my mouth, the way he fucked my pussy with it. Sucking, licking, fingering it as I screamed his name. That will be permanently engraved deep inside my memory.

Jesus, I need to stop.

"Enough about me. How was your vocation with your parents to Hawaii?" I changed the subject.

"It was pretty great. They took me to the beach everyday. We visited the beach houses and ate some of the most delicious things they serve at dinner. Then we rented a houseboat so we could do some beach activities and spend time together," Nicole smiled like she's happy about the memories.

"I'm glad you had fun. Did you get laid too? I'm sure most of the men on there couldn't resist my beautiful best friend," I grinned back, teasingly.

She smirked," Oh yeah. At least half of them tried and I might have slept with two guys at once," she ducked her head, like embarrassed.

This was a first.

I knew she had a high sex drive but fucking with two guys in a threesome, that was shocking news for me.

"Two? That's pretty impressive. I would never," I shook my head, trying not to laugh about her shy expression, knowing too well she is a wild woman in bed.

From high school she had a reputation with boys and she never had a real relationship because she thinks it's a waste of time.

"Yeah? One guy sucks. Two at least can handle a woman for three hours straight but if you sleep only with one, he lasts about twenty minutes tops," she snorts and I just smiled.

I would never be surprised by her sexual desires since I was too engrossed in my dark romance books. It was more hardcore so at least our sex talk didn't make me blush like a virgin which I still am.

But the thought of Vincent...he could make me flustered even when he just looks at me. I bet that man could last the entire night and still fuck me.

Just the thought alone is enough to turn my panties into jelly.

"Are you thinking about your man now?" Her grin turned sly when I blushed like mad again.

"No! Shut up! And no. I'm not and you wouldn't understand anyways. You and your perverted imagination." I scoffed.

"Hey! I do not have an imagination! I have a perfectly normal imagination. Like everyone else. I'm just more open minded and curious," she pouts like a petulant child.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I shrugged and she scrunched her nose at that like I'm keeping all my secrets to myself but didn't push me so I was glad to end that dangerous topic.

Glancing at my phone for a fleeting second, there was still no new messages from Vincent and I started to get nervous.

I should be glad that he isn't bothering me but he just can't ignore me half a day after what happened three days ago at his house. He owed me for keep thinking about him even if I shouldn't.

I don't try to be clingy but a woman has to keep some self respect too after a guy ghosts you since he took my firsts without even asking.

I wonder what he is doing now.

Is he writing the book he started or is he now playing the good cop?

Trying to forget about him, I look at Nicole," Hey, want to go to that cute Italian restaurant down the street? I'm starving,"

I pointed towards the door with my thumb, feeling hungry all of sudden. I haven't eaten anything at all during lunch and all of a sudden I was ravenous.

"Hell yeah. Let's go!"

Nicole grabs her purse from the table beside my feet and then we left the cafe.

Entering the restaurant, I've always loved the atmosphere there - the atmosphere of comfort and calmness - the perfect place to take someone away from their troubles if you can find a decent eatery that also serves alcohol.

There is nothing better than getting drunk with friends and sharing your worries in front of a big ass plate of pasta.

The waiter already greets us by the entrance as soon as we enter.

"Welcome to Piatto accogliente. If you wish to order something, I can help you find your seats," he smiles politely but his words fade out in the background when I see a familiar face seated at the far corner of the room.

My smile disappears from my previous thoughts of food when I see someone else occupying his table.

A woman.

What the fuck?

He is sitting and having dinner with some woman when he claimed me as his?

Vincent looks even more better than I remember. In a freaking three piece suit, screaming rich and successful. The dark hair perfectly matches his black suit and a matching tie.

The brunette across from him is in a green glittery dress, looking beautiful and elegant with her flirty eyes looking up at him beneath her lashes.

For a moment I see red.

My fist clenched involuntarily.

That probably is his wife while he is cheating on her to stalk me and take advantage on me because I'm too innocent and easy to say no.

Fuck, why is he here of all places?

It seems he isn't eating anything, just drinking some type of alcohol while the beautiful woman eats some Italian dish. He looks relaxed in his seat, a little smile on his lips which I wish would disappear once he knows how in much trouble is he in right now if I came up to them and tell his wife that he is secretly seeing me behind her back.

I felt betrayed.

"Miss? Are you all right? " The waiter asks again when I'm standing frozen near the entrance and not entering.

"Um...yeah. I'm fine," I lied and Nicole looks at me in concern when she sees my expression.

"Did you saw something?" She frowns when she looks over towards the direction I was just staring and her eyes widen when she also notices the man who grabbed my attention.

"Shit. Is that Vincent? Him?" She whisper-shouts in my ear and I don't seem to hear anything except for the loud noise going around me and the buzzing of my heart.

His wife was laughing and giggling as he talked to her.

He doesn't notice me or Nicole at all, but then again, maybe I can sneak past them unnoticed?

He didn't text me probably because he was busy with her and that would be hard to explain to her about where he goes when he is not at home with her.

Asshole. Lying, cheating asshat. Why am I being a complete idiot? Why did I let him kiss me?

Because I wanted him to.

Stupid me. I regret ever surrendering to him even though he hasn't still fully claimed me.

"Who is that lady with him? Is he cheating on both of you?" Her worried face shows her concern for me and I'm touched to know how much she cares about my happiness.

"I'm stupid. So stupid," I shake my head and try to control my breathing as tears start to gather in my eyes.

The waiter still is waiting for us and he doesn't know what to do when he looks at my teary face.

Nicole quickly takes the reins," Take us to another hall, possibly far away from that couple ," She whispers loudly at the waiter, hoping that Vincent doesn't hear and tries pulling my hand gently but I pull free from her touch and look at her desperately.

"I need to get out of here. I don't want him to see me," I plead her but she shakes her head, looking assured about something.

"No, you can't let him see you like this. He isn't worth your tears and feelings. Let him know that you don't care and fuck him for doing this to you. He isn't not worth so don't run. We came to eat and that's we gonna do," she orders firmly and pulls me along when the waiter finally understands and leads us towards the hallway in the other side of the dining area.

We walked until we reached the furthest corner where no customers are able to enter unless they have permission from a waitress or waiter.

"Here. Look at the menu and choose whatever you want," he says and gives us wooden menus before walking away while we decide.

I didn't have an appetite for the food anymore. That man ruined it all.

He stalked me all these years just for fun? To toy with his victims before he kills them? That's it?

"Hey don't be upset. He doesn't deserve you, okay? If you want, I can go and give him a piece of my mind for you," Nicole said suddenly and my eyebrows raised to see her serious face.

I immediately shake my head," Don't bother. I will not not allow him ruin my life anymore. He was a mistake," once my words leaves my mouth, I hear sudden clutter of glass breaking somewhere in the restaurant and I turn my eyes to see I have a clear vision of Vincent and the woman from where we were sitting. Just big enough to see their faces clearly.

Vincent's jaw clenches tight and he glares furiously at someone I assumed was the woman sitting next to him.

The glass which was in his hand is broken with blood dripping down on the table's cloth.

Is he mad at her?

The woman looks concerned for him, not knowing what caused him such anger.

As soon as the glass hits the floor, everyone inside the restaurant instantly falls silent and watches them intently, trying to figure out the reason behind the quarrel.

I hold my breath and then in horror watch his eyes glance over towards where we were hiding, narrowing in on our position.

Shitshitshit!

His golden eyes are cold and murderous when they slide over me.

He wasn't supposed to notice me. What the hell happened?

Nicole is silent too, not knowing how to react but then I see Vincent reaching his phone to type something. My phone vibrates in my pocket and I take it to read his message.

Baby, you're in big trouble.
