"This is where the chairs were supposed to be, son. I can't believe they keep them so far away and expect their customers to fetch them. That's just unacceptable service! Honestly, they're lucky people don't argue more about this; otherwise, they'd have zero customers," the old woman declares passionately as we make our way to the back of the restaurant.
When she approached Zara and me at the table, I was prepared to send her away, but the look Zara gave me stopped me in my tracks. She knew I was about to dismiss the old woman, which prompted me to step in before she could get up. I didn't want Zara to view me as rude; after all, I wanted to make a good impression and be a better man, especially for her.
