Sakura's defiance sparked something within Kaito. He knew he couldn't keep his secrets hidden forever. With a deep breath, he turned to face Takeshi.
"Leave her out of this," Kaito growled, his eyes flashing with warning.
Takeshi sneered. "You think you can protect her? You're just a foolish little boy playing at being a gangster."
Kaito's fists clenched, but Sakura's hand on his arm stayed him. "Kaito, don't," she whispered.
Takeshi's eyes narrowed. "Ah, the little princess thinks she can tame the beast. How cute."
With a sudden movement, Kaito pulled off his mask, revealing his true identity to Sakura. She gasped, shock and confusion etched on her face.
"Kaito, what's going on?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Kaito took a deep breath ....
