Chapter 22 - Episode 22: "Golem?"

With newfound enthusiasm after successfully simplifying the magic circle, Izzan decided to seek Athena's help again. "Athena, can you decrypt this magic circle for me? I want to understand every relationship and element within it more clearly."

Athena immediately responded with a hologram that began to materialize before Izzan. This time, the hologram displayed an analysis panel inspired by video game interfaces. Each element of the magic circle was clearly broken down, presenting information that made it easier for Izzan to comprehend.

Magic Circle Analysis Panel

Relationships

Magic Circle

Description: Creates a safe space for operation.Programming: Functions to complete specific tasks.Note: The magic circle acts as a boundary and workspace, similar to how a function in programming confines the program's workspace.

Summoning Elements

Description: Calls forth elements for protection and power.Programming: Imports modules or libraries to enhance functionality.Note: Summoning elements in magic is like importing modules in programming that add features to a program.

Rituals and Incantations

Description: Performs magical actions within the circle.Programming: Executes functions or programs to achieve goals.Note: Rituals and incantations within the circle perform the necessary actions, akin to running functions in programming to reach the desired outcome.

Closing the Circle

Description: Closes the circle after completion.Programming: Cleans up or closes the program after completion.Note: Closing the circle after use is similar to closing a program or cleaning up processes that have finished in programming.

Seeing the analysis panel, Izzan experienced a moment of clarity. "So, this magic circle really is like a computer program. Each element has a specific function and purpose that can be simplified by combining certain commands and structures."

Athena confirmed, "Exactly. By understanding these relationships, you can simplify the magic circle by streamlining the commands and element formations, just like how you simplified code during your programming training."

Satisfied, Izzan began applying this understanding to his magic circle. He merged element commands and restructured the circle in a more efficient manner. The result was a golem that was not only stable but also significantly stronger than before.

As Izzan completed the process, Athena added cheerfully, "Look at that, no electric shocks this time! You've really used your past experiences to brilliantly tackle this challenge."

Izzan laughed. "Yes, and I'm grateful for all that programming training—even though it was sometimes excruciating!"

Athena joined in the laughter. "We've both been through a lot, Izzan. But look at how it's all helped you become a better mage."

Izzan stood proudly before the golem he had just created, now in a satisfactory form. With a wide smile, he said to Athena, "It seems like this magic is pretty easy once we understand the basic principles. I think I'm starting to master it!"

Athena, in her glowing hologram form, responded with a cheerful yet proud tone. "Of course, Izzan. After all the analysis I provided, everything became much easier. Without my guidance and analysis, you might still be struggling with that complicated magic circle."

Izzan laughed, teasingly, "Oh, so it's all thanks to your help, huh? I thought I was already good enough to simplify everything on my own."

Athena was quick to retort, "Absolutely! Remember, without the guidance from my analysis, your success rate would have been much lower. Even with all your experience as an agent, you would have struggled to finish it without my help."

Izzan teased, "So, you're claiming that without your assistance, I would have failed completely?"

"Let's just say that's a fair assessment," Athena replied, displaying the analysis panel with success rate indicators. "We can see the success rate and analysis of each step I provided. Without my guidance, your success rate might have been only around 50%—and that's being optimistic!"

"Wow, so I could only achieve half of the success I have now?" Izzan chuckled. "You've been very helpful, Athena. But it's a bit embarrassing to rely solely on your help."

Athena responded confidently, "Of course. I just want to highlight how great my analysis has been. And, of course, you need to recognize how amazing I am at helping you solve problems!"

Izzan smiled and joked, "Alright, Athena. I admit, without your help, I might still be struggling with this magic circle. But don't get too proud—I'll keep practicing, and maybe someday, I'll be able to do everything on my own."

Athena laughed in her hologram form, "Of course, Izzan. But don't forget, I'll always be here to help—and maybe to tease you a bit if you forget the assistance I've given."
