Chapter 14 - Night Ride II

(Third Person POV)

As Dreamfyre let out an excited roar, in response to Helaena's emotions at the moment, the Princess looked at her brother while they both sat atop their dragons that soared in the skies.

She couldn't help but feel her heart beating rapidly, "H-He wants to spend time with me?" she thought to herself, "I....."

Baelon laughed as Balerion let out a deep rumble, "Ah, sister!" He said with a grin, "Tonight's a beautiful night!"

"W-We should go back now!" Helaena said, "Mother will be furious! The whole city might be awake!"

Baelon nodded, "They might be." He said, "But it matters not. We are Targaryens, we are the Dragons. Our wings must not be restrained, it is about time you learn that. Let us enjoy it together, tonight. I want you to get used to it, Helaena. I give you my word that we'll do this more often."

Helaena blushed, "I...." she said softly

Balerion let out a deafening roar, almost out of excitement as he flapped his wings, gaining more speed. The dark shadow of the Black Dread was a terrifying sight from below. Imagine what any ship and its crew would think, seeing four dragons in the sky, the two largest in the world among them.

The thought of this made Baelon laugh, He always enjoyed giving the smallfolk or any other highborn a surprise by flying his dragon. He was rarely allowed to do this, but Aegon was right, he shouldn't care what people wanted him to do.

Baelon was the rider of the Black Dread, his mere words were power and Aegon was well aware of this. Baelon was a kind and gentle man who could be fierce and ruthless at times, he shouldn't be restrained by the mere words of his parents. He will do what he thinks is right, including taking his sister to the skies so they can spend time together.

And speaking of sisters, Baelon just began to think of something.

He looked ahead, seeing the blackwater reflecting the moonlight that shone from above, "Hm...." he said before looking at his sister, seeing her beautiful hair flow in the air, "I got an idea!"

Helaena frowned, "I...I don't like where this is going..." She said

Baelon chuckled, "It'll be fine." He said, "Follow me!"

The Princess steered Dreamfyre a bit further away as Balerion sped up even more, taking the lead and advancing forward. The Black Dread was flying faster than one would imagine a dragon that size was capable of. It was quite the sight, he was flying a bit faster than what Vhagar is capable of. Obviously, nowhere near Meleys's speed.

Aegon and Aemond who rode on their dragons noticed this, their interest being piqued.

"Where is he going?" Aemond called over to Aegon, "I thought we were going for a few laps in the blackwater!"

Aegon shrugged, "I don't know!" He said with a smirk, "Does it matter???? Let's go! Forward Sunfyre!"

Sunfyre let out a roar and picked up speed, soaring past Vhagar and making his way to Balerion as Dreamfyre followed right behind. Helaena, despite her doubts, found that she should follow her brother no matter what.

Aemond sighed as he glanced back, seeing King's Landing was just a speck in the horizon, far behind in the darkness of the night.

"Oh boy, Baelon, you gotta take the heat on this one....." He muttered, "But oh well."

He turned back to face forward, "Naejot, Vhagar!"

Vhagar let out a roar and flapped her wings, advancing forward to follow his siblings' dragon.

Atop Balerion, Baelon turned to see that his siblings were following him.

He chuckled, "Yes, that's good." He said, "You'll all get in trouble if you go back, huh?"

Dreamfyre was flying to his left, Helaena had steered her to be on this side as Aegon was already to his right. Aemond was following from behind, Vhagar letting out her calls as the other dragons responded in kind.

"Where are we going?" Aegon called

Baelon chuckled as he pointed forward, "Where do you think?" He said

"Mother is going to be mad, Baelon!" Helaena exclaimed

"Ah, it'll be fine!" Baelon laughed

Aemond was behind them, not hearing them clearly but already knew what Baelon had said.

"Hm....." Aemond grumbled as he shook his head, "We're going to be in trouble for this..."

Aegon laughed, "So, it's like that eh?"

Baelon nodded as Balerion roared, "Yes!" He said, "It is time to see our Sister! To Dragonstone!"

"We're waking Rhaenyra up!"

*************

[Dragonstone]

"Princess Rhaenyra!" a guard ran up to the door and frantically knocked on it, "P-P-Please wake up!"

A few moments later, the door opened and Rhaenyra walked out. She was wearing a light blue nightgown, her long white hair was let down, her eyes filled with nothing but drowsiness.

"What is it?" She asked as she wiped her eyes, "There must be a good reason that you come to wake me up directly and not send Elinda for me....."

The guard had a terrified expression on his face, almost like he had seen Death itself. Well, it wasn't that, but close.

"T-T-The....." He started

Rhaenyra crossed her arms, "What?" She said with a serious expression, "Speak clearly, it is late, I'm tired, you must be too....what is it?"

"It's...." He said, completely shaken up

Rhaenyra rolled her eyes, "Oh by the god-"

She was cut off by the distant, but loud, roar of the Black Dread, followed by Vhagar's.

Her eyes widened, the drowsiness immediately leaving her face, "You have to be joking....." She muttered, "Seriously?"

The guard nodded, "I heard their roaring from the distance, I had to come and alert you....." He said as he stepped back

Rhaenyra began to walk past him, "Where's Aemma?" She said, "The boys?"

"They should be in their chambers...." The guard said

As Rhaenyra walked, Elinda, one of her maids, ran up to her, "M-My Princess!" She exclaimed, "T-That sound, it's-"

"I know, Baelon is here." Rhaenyra said with a sigh, "Where are the children?"

"They woke up, they're outside! I tried to convince them not to go!" Elinda said

Rhaenyra sighed, "Oh boy." She said, "This is anything but good....."

Several minutes later, Rhaenyra was outside, atop the Dragonmont where she saw three white-haired children looking up at the sky as Balerion's roar was heard.

"Children-" She started but was cut off by the sound of the Black Dread's wings flapping, cracking like thunder

She looked up to see the titanic shadow of Balerion as it soared above them, the pressure of his flight nearly knocking down her and everyone who had gone outside.

"B-Baelon...." She said with a scowl, "Not so low...."

She noticed Vhagar circling above the castle, her massive figure was an imposing sight, even if it was barely noticeable in the night. She then saw a flash of golden as Sunfyre quickly darted above them.

"Mother!" A little girl said, "It's Sunfyre! Aegon is here as well!"

"Of course they are..." Rhaenyra grumbled, "I....wait..."

She saw Dreamfyre flying behind Balerion as a glint of white hair was noticeable.

"Helaena too???" Rhaenyra said with surprise, "They convinced her to fly out here? Oh no, this is not good."

"Father will be furious."

[A/N: My Novel, Cursed As A Dragon God, has been contracted.

Due to that, I don't know what'll happen to the Fanfics with the current work schedule I have. I'll try my best to work on them considering I have to upload Novel chapters daily. Now, I don't know if it's something you guys are even interested in, but please check it out if it does interest you.

I'm going to check if this opportunity is worth taking advantage of, so I do apologize if my Fanfics will be neglected. I do enjoy writing and all, but with life, work, and now this Novel, things will get complicated.

We'll work something out, I know we will.

Thank you all for any support, as always.]
