(A/N: I just wanna say that Man, my work schedule was horrible. Just didn't have a chance to do anything. I barely had time to work on Cursed As a Dragon God, but thankfully, I'm keeping up with the Daily Updates. It's already at 60 chapters and going steady, it's nearly at 100k views which is nowhere near my Fanfics but hey, for any Novel I've done, it's definitely something.
That said, I apologize for this somewhat short chapter. I've finally gotten some days to breathe from my job; Retail stresses me the fuck out and I have to destress by gaming. And lately, I've gotten back into Monster Hunter World, so there's that.
All that said, just some things to point out here; Rhaenyra's kids. She has two boys and a girl. Not gonna focus too much on them for the time being, but they're names are Aemma, Viserys, and Maelor. Obviously, this story doesn't follow canon, so there won't be any confusion, there won't be an Aegon The Younger, because in this AU, Rhaenyra and her brother Aegon are on good terms and she doesn't name her son Aegon out of spite or whatever the reason was. In fact, Alicent suggested the name Maelor for her youngest son.
As for her Husband, Yea, Idk. It's not Laenor. Whoever I decide it'll be, she'll be loyal to him and they're happily married. Rhaenyra or her kids aren't the focus of this fanfic, it's Helaena, Baelon, and Balerion. Just like the title suggests.
That is all, I'm sorry for the drought)
(Baelon's POV)
"Uncle Baelon!" I saw little Viserys run up to me
I chuckled as I crouched down, "Ah, if it isn't my favorite nephew." I said as he ran into me, giving me a hug, "How big you've grown."
He chuckled, "Hehe."
"Baelon!" I saw little Maelor run up to me
"Hey, little one!" I laughed as I was hugged by my two nephews
"Oh, look at these." Aegon said as he walked up behind me, "They grow faster every day, eh?"
I straightened up as I ruffled Viserys's hair, "Yea, don't they?"
"Are you mad, Baelon?!" I heard Sister's annoyed voice
I looked past the boys and saw Rhaenyra walking up to us with a scowl on her face, Aemma and Elinda behind her.
"What?" I said
"Aemond is one thing, yes, that's expected. Aegon, as well, I wouldn't be surprised, you have always been partners in crime since you soiled your diapers." Rhaenyra walked up to me, "But Helaena? You dare have her take part in this?"
I glanced at Helaena who was walking up to us while looking down. I saw that Elinda quickly walked up to her and handed her a blanket.
"It's rather chilly, Princess." She said softly
Helaena looked at me with a worried look; I merely gave her a wink.
I looked back at my elder sister's serious scowl, "What?" I shrugged, "I wanted to see my beautiful Sister, the Princess Rhaenyra. It's about time we have a chat. And Helaena needed a breath of fresh air, after what had happened."
I noticed that Aemond was walking to the side, his hands behind his back as he looked at us without saying a word.
Rhaenrya looked at all of us, save for Helaena, "You boys...." She said as she gently moved her sons out of the way, "You are always striving to give Father a heart attack. Ever since you can walk, you were always going around, causing trouble."
"What? How is that bad, Sister?" Aegon chuckled, "It doesn't hurt to have fun!"
Aemond didn't say anything, merely scratching his cheek. I bet he found it awkward, considering her betrothed was a few feet away from him. I noticed Aemma was also unusually quiet.
"Sister, my Sweet Helaena." Rhaenyra gestured her over, "Come, my sweetling."
Helaena walked up to her, "I'm sorry, Rhaenyra." She said softly, "I didn't know...."
Rhaenyra hugged her, "Oh, my dear, it's okay." She kissed her on the cheek, "Let's get you inside. You'll spend the night. I'll write to King's Landing, to tell your Mother that you're okay. As for you three fools, I expect you feed your dragons and have them ready for a flight on the Morrow."
She began to walk away, gesturing at her kids to go back inside.
"What a bummer...." Aegon grumbled, "Always a killjoy.."
I chuckled and patted his shoulder, "She'll kill you." I told him as I walked over to Rhaenyra, "Rhaenyra, I need a word with you."
She stopped and looked at me, "What for?"
"We'll speak in private." I said
Helaena looked at me, giving me a silent look, as if she was asking me the same thing.
I walked over to her and patted her cheek, "Don't worry." I whispered, "Go get some rest. I'll take the heat from Father, okay?"
She nodded, "Okay..."
Rhaenyra scoffed, "Yea, you best do that." She said,
"You fool."
****************
"Where's your Husband?" I asked as I laid on a table
She was lighting candles on some table, "At sea with Ser Laenor." She said, "You remember the debt he owed Lord Corlys? He's paying it back. He should be back in a few weeks, at least that's what his letters say."
"Hm." I said as she walked over to a chair and sat down, crossing her arms, "All alone here, then, eh?"
She nodded and sighed, "Yes, I suppose so." She said, "All alone in a castle that's destined to be yours....."
"I told you." I said with a smile, "I'll gladly share it."
"That's not how it works, Baelon." She said, "The Lords of the Re-"
"Fuck what they think." I scowled, "You are my Sister, The Princess Rhaenyra. Nobody should question what the eldest Daughter of the King does, especially if the Heir allows it."
She gave me a slight smile, "You were always kind to me."
"Are you kidding me?" I said, "You're my blood, Rhaenyra. We came from the same mother. I am not just kind to you, I love you."
"Hm, is that so?" She said
"Yes." I responded
"Do you love me like you do Helaena?" She said, "Or more?"
I frowned, "Huh?" I said looking at her, "What do you mean?"
"She's your betrothed." She said with a slight smile
"And like you, My Sister." I said, "I love you, Rhaenyra, as my Sister, that is all."
"And how do you love her? I only ask because it is inevitable that you marry and keep the Royal Bloodline pure with Targaryen blood." She said, "I only wish the best for my sweet Helaena, nothing but happiness."
"I'll be good to her, I promise." I said
"I know you will. You will make her happy." She said, "But the thing is, Baelon, is that what you want?"
"Who cares what I want? I love my sister, that's all that matters." I scowled
"You love her as a sister, huh?" She chuckled, "Soon, my dear brother, You'll fall for her. I know it. It's strange, how that works. Arranged marriages don't really work out that way, but the two of you, it's like you're destined to be together."
"Yea yea, whatever." I said
"So." She said, "What did you want to speak about? Privately, that is."
"Oh." I said, "Hey, remember that time we went to the North? You and I?"
She nodded, "Yes." She said, "One of the first times Father has been seething with rage when it came to you."
"Yea." I said, "I was thinking about something; why Skagos was attacking so much lately."
"Oh that." Rhaenyra said, "What of it?"
"That guy I killed for you." I said as I sat up, "The one that groped you."
"Wasn't he Skagosi?"
