Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Funeral

[Ding, indirectly killed the Uchiha patriarch, obtain: evil value +1000]

Uchiha Nagisa died, and he actually received a reward. This was an unexpected gain, confirming to Kisaragi that Uchiha Nagisa was indeed dead and not faking it.

"Go and release Uchiha Fugaku."

Now that Uchiha Nagisa was dead, Kisaragi intended to keep his promise and release Uchiha Fugaku. However, Uchiha Fugaku still had great value.

When two tigers fight, one is bound to get injured—this is exactly what the top officials of Konoha want to see. To secure Sarutobi Hiruzen's favor, Kisaragi knew he must release Uchiha Fugaku. Until he gained absolute strength, Kisaragi didn't want to become a thorn in Sarutobi Hiruzen's side.

Having just awakened the system, Kisaragi needed to survive for the time being. Once his strength reached Kage-level, or if he activated the Mangekyō Sharingan, he wouldn't have to worry anymore.

Once at Kage-level, he could unleash Shikai Ryūjin Jakka. Although Bankai's remnant fire swords were immensely powerful, Shikai Ryūjin Jakka was also a trump card and should be sufficient to kill a Kage-level opponent.

Activating the Mangekyō Sharingan would also give him Kage-level combat power, possibly allowing him to fully step into the Kage-level with the strength enhancement it provides.

Now was not the time to be arrogant; Kisaragi was very aware of this. He needed to create an opponent for himself to reassure the old fox of the Third Hokage

"The patriarch is dead. As a member of the Uchiha clan, it wouldn't look good if I didn't go and pay my respects."

Kisaragi arrived at the patriarch's residence, which was filled with sorrow. As soon as he stepped inside, several sharp eyes turned towards him.

Uchiha Rin, Uchiha Bob, and Uchiha Shimata all looked at Kisaragi coldly, and Uchiha Shimata even went so far as to draw his sword.

"You bastard who killed the patriarch, how dare you show up here?"

Hearing this, Kisaragi showed his displeasure.

"You can eat shit, but you can't talk nonsense. The patriarch was the person I admired the most. How could I have killed him? What are you trying to imply by saying this?"

Ignoring Uchiha Shimata, Kisaragi walked towards Uchiha Nagisa's body.

"Don't act out here."

Uchiha Bob intervened to stop Uchiha Shimata from attacking. Fighting here would disturb the patriarch's remains, and causing trouble for Kisaragi now was pointless.

Kisaragi wasn't surprised. He knew they would definitely become enemies in the future, but this was not the time for them to confront him.

The chief elder of the Uchiha clan approached and stood beside Kisaragi.

"Kisaragi, the patriarch has passed away. Shouldn't you release Fugaku now?"

Glancing at the elder, Kisaragi replied indifferently, "Don't worry, Elder, Uchiha Fugaku will be back soon."

"That's good. You and Fugaku are both geniuses of the Uchiha clan. I hope you can join forces rather than become enemies."

From the perspective of the Uchiha clan's interests, Kisaragi and Uchiha Fugaku joining forces would bring the greatest benefit. The elder still secretly supported Uchiha Fugaku.

It wasn't that Kisaragi was lacking in ability, but the elder's granddaughter, Uchiha Mikoto, was Uchiha Fugaku's fiancée. Uchiha Fugaku was his future grandson-in-law, so the elder naturally supported him.

"It's not impossible to join forces. As long as Fugaku is willing to make a little sacrifice, I wouldn't mind joining forces with him," Kisaragi said with a smile.

The elder shook his head, thinking Kisaragi was referring to the position of patriarch. Uchiha Fugaku could never give up that position, nor would he ever make such a sacrifice.

But the elder did not realize that Kisaragi wasn't talking about the patriarch's position at all—he was talking about Uchiha Mikoto.

"I wonder how much evil value I could get by robbing Uchiha Fugaku's fiancée?" Kisaragi thought to himself.

He had seen Uchiha Mikoto a few times and found her to be truly beautiful. It was fortunate that the elder didn't know what Kisaragi was thinking; otherwise, he might not have been able to restrain himself from fighting Kisaragi.

Not long after, Uchiha Fugaku returned in a state of disarray. Having heard the news of his father's death on the way, he rushed in like a madman.

"Kisaragi, I'm going to kill you!"

"Young Master, don't be impulsive."

Uchiha Rin and Uchiha Bob immediately restrained Uchiha Fugaku. Previously, Uchiha Fugaku had been captured by Kisaragi after attacking him. Now that he was released, they didn't want Uchiha Fugaku to make the same mistake again.

"Tsk, what a pity."

If Uchiha Fugaku had charged at him, Kisaragi wouldn't have minded teaching him a lesson and possibly capturing him again. After all, Kisaragi was now the captain of the Konoha Guard. Arresting Uchiha Fugaku would be perfectly justifiable.

"Fugaku, I really feel sorry for the patriarch. It seems that your feelings for him aren't that deep," Kisaragi said with a meaningful tone.

Uchiha Fugaku definitely had the potential to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, and it was likely that he did so in the original storyline. If Uchiha Fugaku's feelings for his father were deep enough, this should have been the time to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan.

However, he should be thankful that the Mangekyō Sharingan wasn't activated; otherwise, Kisaragi would have had to kill him to eliminate the threat. At the very least, he would have taken Uchiha Fugaku's eyes.

Kisaragi didn't want anyone to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan before he did.

"Young Master, you're not his opponent for the time being. You must hold back," Uchiha Rin whispered into Uchiha Fugaku's ear.

Even in his prime, Uchiha Fugaku wouldn't be a match for Kisaragi, and now, in his current state, he stood no chance. After all, he had recently been in Kisaragi's clutches.

Although Kisaragi hadn't personally instructed it, Uchiha Jin had taken care of Uchiha Fugaku well—an experience that Uchiha Fugaku would likely never forget.

Perhaps this torture had made Uchiha Fugaku more mature, and he managed to suppress his anger.

"Kisaragi, I'll settle this score with you sooner or later," Uchiha Fugaku vowed silently.

Although he had just been released, Uchiha Fugaku already understood the situation and knew that his father's death was indirectly related to Kisaragi. Without Kisaragi, no matter how poor his father's condition was, he would have lived at least half a year longer.

As Uchiha Fugaku glared at Kisaragi with his blood-red Three Tomoe Sharingan, Kisaragi knew he was deeply hated, but it didn't matter. Kisaragi was certain that Fugaku would hate him even more in the future
