Chapter 5 - trip to amusement part.

I sat at my study table, surrounded by piles of textbooks and notes, trying to focus on my upcoming test. The soft glow of my desk lamp cast a warm light on my face as I scribbled notes on a piece of paper. My mind was absorbed in the complex formulas and theorems, but my concentration was broken when my mobile phone rang, piercing the silence. Riiii...riii...riii... The sound echoed through my room, making me jump slightly.

I picked up the phone, rubbing my tired eyes, and read the name on the screen. Kaito. Why was he calling me? We hadn't talked in a while, and I wasn't expecting his call.

"Hi, Kaito. What's up?" I asked, trying to sound casual despite my surprise.

"Hey, Mei. What are you doing?" Kaito's voice was warm and friendly, making me feel a flutter in my chest.

"Just studying," I replied, feeling a bit self-conscious about my messy room and the piles of books surrounding me.

"I see. Mei, are you free tomorrow?" Kaito asked, his tone light and curious.

"Yeah, why?" I asked, my curiosity piqued. What could Kaito want to do tomorrow?

"Well, how about we go to the amusement park?" Kaito suggested, sounding enthusiastic and carefree.

"Amusement park? Why all of a sudden?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. This was unexpected, even for Kaito.

"No reason, just had two tickets and my friends are busy, so I thought, why not call you?" Kaito explained, his voice nonchalant.

I couldn't help but laugh at his casual attitude. "Okay, let's go! It'll be fun!" I agreed, feeling a spark of excitement.

As I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but wonder what had prompted Kaito to invite me out of the blue. Was it just a coincidence, or was there something more behind his invitation? I pushed the thought aside, looking forward to a fun day at the amusement park with him.

The next morning, I woke up to a beautiful Sunday scene - the warm sun shining through my window, birds singing their sweet melodies. After enjoying a quick breakfast, I checked my phone and saw a message from Kaito: "We'll meet at 8 am." I read it and thought, "What? 8 am?" I glanced at the clock and panicked - it was already 7:13! I rushed to get ready, changing into a comfortable dress and grabbing my bag. As I checked the time again, it was 7:36. I hurried out the door and started to run, but then I saw Kaito's car waiting for me.

"Hey, Mei! You're early! Come on, let's go!" Kaito called out with a smile.

I asked him, "How long did you wait?"

Kaito chuckled. "I didn't wait at all. I thought you'd walk here, so I decided to pick you up instead."

I laughed, feeling a bit relieved. "Thanks, Kaito."

"No problem, let's go! The amusement park awaits!" Kaito said, gesturing for me to get in the car.

As Kaito started driving, I rolled down the window, enjoying the fresh morning air and the sound of birds chirping. I turned to Kaito and asked, "Hey, how old are you?"

"I'm 20," Kaito replied with a smile.

I teased him, "What? You're 20? That means you're two years older than me! I'm 18, so from today onward, I should call you 'oppa', right?"

Kaito chuckled and played along, "Haha, sure, Mei! You can call me 'oppa' from now on!"

I giggled, feeling a bit more comfortable around him. The conversation flowed easily, and I found myself enjoying his company more and more.

As we entered the amusement park, I exclaimed, "Kaito oppa, let's go on the roller coaster first!" Kaito agreed, and we headed towards the ride. Suddenly, a man bumped into me and sneered, "Watch where you're going."

I apologized, but the man continued to taunt me, "Hey little girl, why don't you leave your boyfriend and come with me?" I tried to brush him off, but Kaito intervened, his face red with anger.

"How dare you speak to Mei like that, you bastard!" Kaito shouted, punching the man. I had never seen Kaito so furious before.

"Kaito oppa , please stop! Let go of him!" I pleaded, tugging on Kaito's arm.

Kaito finally released the man and called the police to report the incident. He hold my hand As we walked away, I noticed Kaito's hand was bleeding.

"Kaito, let go of your hand, it needs a bandage," I said, concern etched on my face.

"It's all right, Mei," Kaito replied, but I insisted on bandaging his hand.

As I wrapped the bandage around his hand, I asked, "Why did you fight? I was so scared."

Kaito's expression softened, and he wiped away my tears. "That man was rude to you, Mei. I couldn't just stand by and do nothing."

I looked up at him, my eyes brimming with tears. "Thank you, Kaito oppa."

"Okay, Mei, let's go on the roller coaster," Kaito said, despite his injured hand.

"But oppa , you're hurt," I protested.

"It's just my hand, let's go," Kaito insisted.

I hesitated, but Kaito's enthusiasm was contagious. "Really, but—"

"No buts, Mei, let's go!" Kaito said with a grin, pulling me towards the ride.

As we climbed into the roller coaster car, I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. "Kaito, I don't know if this is a good idea... I feel a bit queasy."

Kaito looked concerned. "Do you want to get off? We can ride something else."

But I didn't want to ruin the day. "No, it's okay... let's just get this over with."

The ride started, and I closed my eyes, holding on tight as the roller coaster climbed up the steep incline. My stomach dropped as we crested the top and plummeted downwards. I felt Kaito's hand wrap around mine, his grip reassuring.

As the roller coaster finally came to a stop, I breathed a sigh of relief. "That was terrifying!" I exclaimed, my heart still racing.

Kaito chuckled and helped me out of the car. "You're not a fan of roller coasters, huh?"

I shook my head, still feeling a bit dizzy. "No, I think I'll stick to the merry-go-round from now on."

Kaito smiled and put his arm around me. "Don't worry, I'll protect you from any more scary rides."

We walked around the amusement park, enjoying the food and games. As the sun began to set, Kaito suggested we watch the fireworks display.

As we found a spot to watch the fireworks, Kaito turned to me and said, "Mei, I had a great time today. Thanks for coming with me."

I smiled, feeling happy and content. "I had a great time too, Kaito. Thanks for taking care of me."

The fireworks exploded in the sky, casting a colorful glow over us.

As we walked towards the entrance of the park, a loud rumble came from my stomach, making me feel embarrassed. My face turned bright red.

Kaito burst out laughing. "Pffft, haha... Haha, are you hungry? Why didn't you say so? Let's go eat, lol!"

I playfully hit him on the arm. "Hey, stop laughing oppa!"

We walked to a nearby restaurant and looked at the menu. Kaito suggested we try their signature dishes: "Let's get the Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Japchae. And some Kimchi Fried Rice, too!"

My stomach growled in anticipation as we waited for our food to arrive. When it did, we dug in, savoring the delicious flavors.

As we ate, Kaito teased me about my stomach growling earlier. I laughed and replied, "Hey, I was just saving room for this amazing food!"
