Chapter 10 - His Illusion

Though her reaction to his words was panicking, she quickly let it go.

Panicking is never the answer but it sure helps her give up easily on whatever topic she panics about.

Since he already figured out that much, she didn't have to worry about being like Melina. Feeling a huge burden off her chest.

At the moment, she just had to worry about how to clear that new mission and also listen to what he had to say.

She silently followed Eren to the balcony, a different one from where she had made a mess.

"You have no questions?" He asks.

"Guess nope," she gradually starts to relax her composure.

He chuckles, "Not even curious about how I know?"

"Nope," she replies nonchalantly. She assumed there was no need for her to know as she was kind of in a disadvantage.

"You're making me curious though."

"Doesn't sound like my problem, your highness."

He observes her silently, making her give in as she lets out a sigh, "You were engaged with her. Not surprising that you will catch on. Considering the letters must have warned you."

He grins, "Guess you're not dumb."

"Oh no, I am. So, please cut to the chase. I want to leave."

His friendly expression turn cold, "Why are you here?"

"Pardon?" Confusion takes over her mind.

"Why are you in her body? What did she wish for?"

She blankly stares at him, "Honestly, same question."

She pretends to be oblivious, "I don't know either."

His eyes start to brighten up, "You think it's wise to lie to me right now?"

He flickers his finger instantly burning the ribbon wrapped around her waist as an attempt for intimidating her.

Unexpectedly, Sici just ends up laughing witnessing this, making him feel dumb, "Why are you laughing?"

"Now I know why you touched me like that earlier," she replies honestly.

Another reason she kept on trying to get the hard ending in Auree's route was Eren's visual and illusion.

As if his visuals and puppy like character wasn't enough to captivate the hearts of many, the creator chose to give him the illusion of fire. The royal bloodline helping him control it however he wants within any capacity and no limits.

An illusion for a puppy like him had tempted Sici to know more sides of him so yeah, she did as many hangout quests she could with him.

Before she knew it, she had gotten obsessed though now the obsession was fading away, mostly due to the fact she's possessing Melina and the mission.

Sici felt the same feeling of excitement come back to her when she saw the ribbon burn away, "I knew it was too cool when I just read it or saw it in cut scenes but oh boy, it sure is different to see it for real."

In addition, she knew what the weakness was to his limitless illusion and this encounter just proved her conclusion right.

"You're crazy," he exclaims.

"I know," she replies.

"So you're not going to tell me what her wish was?"

"Like I said, I don't know. Even if I did, what help would you be able to provide anyway?"

"Who else would be a better option than me?" He said with confidence.

"Melina herself, though she doesn't help much," she thought.

Since he was a prince, she could get help finding more clues about the killer, specially cause he's Melina's fiance. But, the system clearly hinted her to not be in good terms with him.

So no matter the temptation, she was cautious.

"To begin with, there's nothing needed to be helped upon," she replied, "I think I have heard enough, I will take my leave now."

She stops, remembering something, "Since you know I'm not Melina. Break off the engagement, will you?"

"I remember saying, I wasn't going to."

"I don't want to be involved with you so do so."

"Who says you have a say in this? Miss soul."

She glares at him, "What do you mean by that?"

His lips form a grin, "I can't reveal all my cards to someone who isn't willing to cooperate."

"Fine," she went through a worse personality trait than this so this didn't faze her much, "Suit yourself."

She exits the balcony, leaving Eren alone. He leans against the balcony, throwing his head back as the breeze hits his face and sways his golden like hair.

"I will continue to wait for you," he softly mutters closing his eyes.

....

"You're a huge pain in the ass. Specially after the poisoning incident," Luke said as the carriage started to move along.

Sici remains quiet, having no mental energy to deal with him. Her mind was a mess right now.

He draws his face closer to hers, catching her attention as he stares into her emerald eyes, "I don't like it that I can't seem to understand it."

She averts her gaze, breaking the eye contact, "No one's forcing you to."

He leans back to his seat, "I do like how you're fighting back."

"He's reminding me of Melina right now, thought they weren't related but they sure resemble each other right now. Talkative when you least expect it," she thought, looking outside the window.

"Make sure to bite back the Marchioness when we get back," he whispered, earning Sici's attention.

"Why?"

He smirks seeing her attention shifting to him, "What do you suppose?"

"What am I supposed to? She's your mother. You're the last person I would have expected to say those words."

He frowns at her choice of words, "Just think of it as a friendly advice."

She stares at him for awhile, "Something doesn't seem right."

"What?"

"Let's say the poison changed something in me but what about you? Maybe I should have slapped you sooner," she said mischievously.

Luke covers his cheeks instantly as a reflex, "You don't say...."

She starts rubbing her palms, "I was feeling itchy all day, maybe I should just..."

"I'll shut up, put your hands back on your lap woman!" He stares at the other window, shutting his lips.

Sici hides her laughter. Covering her mouth to hide the smile, "Maybe he isn't that much of a brat."

Just when she was finally starting to feel relieved, a notification pops up.

"Never fuckin mind. Today's the worst day since I got here," she rested her head against the window, closing her eyes and furrowing her eyebrows.
