"How could Sloane lie about her real daughter?"
Whispers filled the hall, and Amber looked to her mother for help, but Sloane didn't even spare a glance at her.
Despite everyone's whispers, Sloane smiled and said, "You are right. You are my daughter, and Amber is just the daughter of a nobody; you are completely right, okay? I will agree to everything you say right now but you must promise me that you will go back to seeing your psychiatrist. I can no longer keep up with the crazy things you say."
"Are you calling me crazy?" Eliana asked in disbelief.
"Does Zach know you are no longer seeing your psychiatrist?" Sloane asked and suddenly gasped "Don't tell me that he doesn't even know that you see a psychiatrist. A relationship that does begin with honesty won't go well, dear."
