The next few days were completely ordinary for Li Feng. At the start of the day he cultivated his skills for some time and then went to the beast taming hall to feed the beasts there. Then after that was done, he returned back to his home and continued studying the book of fundamental array techniques.
After his seven day work period was over, Li Feng was planning to stay in his room for a month or so if his system did not give him any more missions for which he needed to go outside. Then the next time when he would come out, he would show his cultivation to be at the first level Qi gathering realm.
This would allow him to take more types of and high paying missions and he could come across more things related to cultivation. There might even be items which would be compatible with his ultimate upgradation cards and that would be a great boost to his power.
While thinking about his future plans, Li Feng was about to be done with his last day's work when he heard a commotion happening in the beast taming hall. Getting a bit curious, Li Feng went to see what was it about.
Just outside of the garden where the beasts were kept, quite a few disciples from the beast taming hall had set up a temporary market. After listening to everyone talking about it, Li Feng learnt about the situation.
It turned out that the disciples who had gone outside the sect to capture a new batch of beasts had just returned. All the beasts with good potential would be taken care of by the beast taming hall itself but there were quite a few weak beasts among the captured ones.
So the disciples of the beast taming hall were allowed to sell these beasts to other disciples to earn some contribution points or anything else they needed. And this market was here exactly for that reason.
After getting his book on the arrays, Li Feng had not used any of his contribution points. That was mainly because the book on array formation was already very vast so buying more books in the current situation would be useless and he also wanted to have some extra contribution points in hand just in case.
So Li Feng decided to check the market out. The chance of this happening was very low but if he could find a beast who was compatible with an advanced upgradation card, then that would be amazing. But Li Feng was not very hopeful about that as after visiting most of the beasts kept in the garden, he had managed to find only one beast that was compatible with an advanced card and that was actually the best beast that the outer beast taming hall had.
After walking around the marketplace Li Feng did not manage to find a single beast that was compatible for an advanced card. This was something he had expected and so he was not much disappointed by this outcome. Now only three shops were left for him to check but those shops were not even selling spiritual beasts but regular ones.
Spiritual beasts were able to cultivate and were equivalent to humans with talent for cultivation. So regular beasts or animals who could not cultivate were mostly useless for cultivators. But there were a few people who actually liked to eat meat even after starting cultivation and for blood god sect disciples, even the blood of a regular beast could provide them with some help. So they were also being sold here.
But Li Feng was not here to find that kind of beast so he was planning to return back to his home when he suddenly heard a whimpering sound. This was a completely normal sound for a market like this and Li Feng had no idea why he suddenly got attracted to this sound.
After thinking that there was no loss in checking this sound out, he went to one of the remaining shops and saw what was the source of the sound.
It was actually a cute little fox with white fur. It was sitting inside a cage kept in an inconspicuous corner of the shop. Even though this beast looked quite cute and healthy it was definitely quite weak and probably would not be able to live for long.
But as soon as he looked at the beast, the system sent him a notification and Li Feng's mind blanked out. That was because his system just notified him that this cute, little but weak looking fox was actually compatible with a Ultimate Upgradation Card.
After coming back to his senses from this shock, Li Feng immediately decided to buy it. He went to the shopkeeper and bought not only that fox but one white rabbit and a white pigeon too. Li Feng did that to give the impression that he was not particularly interested in that fox but in cute white animals instead.
The other two animals did not react in any peculiar way when Li Feng took them from the shopkeeper but he noticed that the fox suddenly started to panic a little bit when it was brought out. If Li Feng did not know that this fox was special for some reason he would not have thought anything about this and would just think that it was a natural reaction.
But now that he was aware of the special nature of this fox, he was able to notice that this fox was showing the signs of having high intelligence.
This made him even more interested about this fox and he decided to quickly bring it back to his home. At the same time he did not forget to buy a few chunks of meat, beans and fruits for his new pets to eat. Only then he happily returned back to his home. The ultimate upgradation card was very special and Li Feng was looking forward to seeing what this fox would turn out to be.
