There was a large garden in the beast taming hall where the beasts were kept inside cage-like structures. These cages was not normal cages though but instead were special spiritual items which were equipped with many types of formation mainly to restrain the beasts.
Li Feng was responsible for feeding the beasts kept in the eastern part of the garden. There were a total of thirty seven beasts kept in that area and he needed to carry various types of food for all of them. That was a lot of load and for a regular disciple who had not started cultivating, carrying this much was truly very hard work. He also needed to make several trips to the warehouse to get all the materials.
Without wasting his time, Li Feng immediately started working. The list that was given to him was not very detailed but after reading it carefully, Li Feng had no problem understanding what type of foods each beast needed. So he placed the first batch of food for ten beasts in a large bag and started carrying it toward the eastern side of the garden.
These beasts which were kept in the sect were different from the animals which he had seen while living in the village. These beasts had the power to sense the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to cultivate and for that reason they were called the spiritual beasts.
Weak beasts who had just started cultivating were not much different in intelligence than a regular animal. But any beast who had managed to progress in the path of cultivation were able to develop their intelligence and a beast with powerful cultivation was not much different from a human in terms of intelligence.
There were even beasts who were able to take on human forms. But those beasts were very rare and had the bloodline of powerful divine beasts or had extremely high cultivation. There were no such beasts present in this garden. While thinking about these things that Li Feng had just recently learnt, he reached the cage of the first beast that he needed to feed.
Actually Li Feng needed to have some knowledge about the beasts to work efficiently and without creating more trouble by making any mistakes. So the person who was responsible for showing him what to do had given him a piece of special jade that could record information. By pressing that jade to one's forehead, it was possible to immediately learn the recorded information.
It sounded very magical but to any sect, this was not a particularly valuable item. But in this type of transmission, the information might not be transferred perfectly so cultivation techniques and other important things were not conveyed this way. But for general information like the elementary knowledge about spiritual beasts, this method was perfectly fine to be used.
The first beast that Li Feng needed to feed was a black boar with two large tusks. It was silently lying on the ground but its eyes were bloodshot and it was looking at Li Feng with extreme murderous intent. Anyone else might even faint after sensing this type of powerful murderous intent.
Even though Li Feng was way stronger than this rank 2 beast, this murderous intent even made him a little uncomfortable. Li Feng also understood the reason for this boars rage. To any disciple who was not a cultivator this beasts would look to just be lying on the ground. But with his ability to sense the spiritual power of heaven and earth, Li Feng was able to see the chains of spiritual energy restricting the boar's body tightly.
At the same time Li Feng was looking at the boar, his system sent him a message telling that he could use a regular upgradation card on this boar spiritual beast. Li Fang was extremely surprised after knowing this as he had expected that the cards could only be used on inanimate objects and nothing else. But then he thought about how his spiritual root was upgraded and realised his fault in thinking.
But upgrading this boar would bring no value to him so he had no reason to do that. From his system he knew that if he used a card on this beast then it would followed Li Feng's every orders. But for the time being ordering this beast around was not important and he did not want to waste any of his cards even if it was a regular one. This boar was definitely in a terrible condition but Li Feng had no reason or need to worry about that.
So he did not waste much time thinking about the boar's situation and quickly threw a large chunk of meat stuffed with some kind of spiritual berry inside the spiritual cage and went to feed the other beasts. Not all the beasts present here radiated murderous intent like that boar but most of them were extremely angry with their captivity and it was very clear.
Li Feng worked efficiently and in just an hour or so he was done giving food to all the beasts he was responsible for. So he reported that to the same person who was like his mentor and got his contribution points for the day.
This mission was actually not a one time job and Li Feng at least needed to feed the beasts for 7 days after accepting it. After seven days were over he would get the choice to either continue with this job or to do other missions or to stop doing any missions.
The amount of contribution points that Li Feng got today was enough for him to buy one of the fundamental books of extra arts and he immediately decided to take the books about the arrays home.
After successfully buying this book from the talent hall, Li Feng happily went back to his house. He was going to consume this book thoroughly for the rest of the day. If he did not have to go to the beast taming hall again the next day, he was planning to finish the whole book in one sitting.
So thinking about all this Li Feng returned back to his house in a very happy mood.
