...
2014: Tokyo, Japan. 8:30 AM
"Alright, my precious little prodigy!! It's time for my last lesson for you before I ship you off to Kusakabe so he can teach you about the 'Simple Domain' and 'New Shadow Style'." Gojo said excitedly, proud his student has come so far in so little time.
Said student was sweat-dropping at his sensei at how energetic he was, making Gojo lose some of his energy as well as getting him to let out a sigh.
*SIGH*
"You have no energy, Yuta!!" Gojo shouted out as his signature whiteboard and lab coat appeared again, making Yuta just sigh.
*YAWN*
'Does he not realize it's 8:30 in the morning?' Yuta wondered as he covered his yawn with his mouth. Gojo ignored that while he drew two hands shaking with chains surrounding the hands.
"Alright!! What I'll be teaching you about today is something I mentioned when I was explaining 'Barriers' and that is 'Binding Vows'." Gojo said as he turned back to his student, who was paying rapt attention.
"A 'Binding Vow' is a pact made with 'Jujutsu' that creates conditions for themselves or agreements with others," Satoru explained.
"There are two types of 'Binding Vows'. The first is where you make an agreement with yourself, limiting or weakening one aspect of yourself to strengthen another. You could do something like, 'In exchange for not being able to use 'Cursed Energy' to defend your right arm, the 'Cursed Energy' defending the rest of your body becomes stronger'." Gojo explained the first type of 'Binding Vow' and when he saw his student understood, he continued to the second type.
"The second type of a 'Binding Vow' is an agreement with someone else. Contracts created between two or more individuals must agree to a particular set of conditions that benefit both parties. The penalty for breaking a 'Binding Vow' with others is considered to be far greater than that of a self-imposed 'Binding Vow', so don't go breaking those." Gojo explained and was once again blown away by his students' learning comprehension when Yuta nodded understandingly and immediately asked a question.
"So, could I say something like 'In exchange for my punches becoming weaker, my kicks become stronger'?" Yuta asked, making Gojo smile proudly at him, which gave him his answer.
Suddenly, Gojo snapped his fingers like he just remembered something before he looked back to Yuta, who was looking at him confused.
'I seem to confuse him a lot, huh?' Gojo thought to himself with a sweat drop before shaking his head and saying what he wanted to say.
"I'm not gonna go through the explanation, so you can just ask Kusakabe when I bring you to him, but pay attention." Gojo insisted when he saw Yuta's confusion grow, but he still nodded.
Gojo crouched down into a stance that made Yuta think he looked like he was about to unsheathe a katana.
"New Shadow Style: Simple Domain"
Yuta watched as a small 'Barrier' was created around Gojo in a circle that was about 5 meters in diameter.
"Oh, so this is 'Simple Domain'? I think I understand more of your lesson about 'Barriers'." Yuta said as he inspected Satoru's 'Simple Domain' closely.
As Gojo stood back up, he couldn't help but smile as Yuta crouched down and put his hands on the hold of his sheathed katana.
"New Shadow Style: Simple Domain"
"Hahahaha!!"
Gojo laughed as he watched Yuta perform a perfect 'Simple Domain' on his first try. He shook his head before he smirked at Yuta.
"Nice!! You wanna spar?" Gojo asked, smiling in amusement when he saw the horrified look on Yuta's face at the suggestion. Gojo could say confidently he knew the answer to that question.
"Alright, let's go find Kusakabe," Gojo said as he walked over to Yuta. Before he could respond to the question or run away from his borderline terrifying sensei, Gojo put his hand on his shoulder, and they both disappeared.
.
.
"BOO!!!" "AHH!!"
*SHNK*
"What the hell, Gojo!!"
The next thing Yuta knew, he was standing in front of the man he had met about a year ago, who had tried to kill them as soon as they showed up. A glance around showed they were back at 'Jujutsu High'.
'Good thing Gojo-sensei had me inside his 'Infinity', or else I would have no chance of reacting to that strike. I see why Sensei wants me to learn from this guy.' Yuta thought to himself as he inspected the swordsman. After scolding Gojo for surprising him again, the man turned to Yuta.
"You ready, kid?" Kusakabe asked as he looked down at the 13-year-old, who nodded when he heard him. The swordsman nodded back before he started walking towards the training grounds.
Yuta blinked at the man before getting a light shove on his back, turning around to see Gojo smiling encouragingly at him.
"Do your best. I'll pick you up once you have everything figured out, which probably won't take more than a few days." Gojo encouraged as he walked away, making a small smile break out on Yuta's face.
The boy nodded and ran towards the training grounds to catch up with his new teacher.
.
.
Kusakabe looked at the 13-year-old over his shoulder with an analytical eye.
'It's only been about a year since I saw this kid, and it's like he's a completely different person. Before, he was always all gloomy with that insane 'Cursed Energy' from that curse of his dead friend following him around. Now, he's standing up straight, looks me in the eye when I talk to him, and most importantly, that curse is almost completely undone with that insane 'Cursed Energy' almost entirely under this kid's control.' Kusakabe thought to himself in surprise as the two arrived at the training grounds.
He motioned for his new student to stop as he kept walking before he stopped about 5 meters away from him. He nodded when he looked at Yuta to see him ready and listening.
"Alright, kid, first things first, do you know what 'Simple Domain' is?" Kusakabe asked, getting a nod from Yuta. Before the man could continue, Yuta opened his 'Simple Domain', making the man forget everything he was about to say.
After a few seconds of awkwardly staring at each other while Yuta slowly let his 'Simple Domain' fall, the swordsman broke out of his stupor.
"What the hell, kid?! I didn't even show it to you!!" Kusakabe shouted out in astonishment as he watched a 13-year-old perform a 'Simple Domain' better than what most 'Jujutsu Sorcerers' could after a lifetime of trying. Yuta laughed nervously when he saw his new teacher's reaction.
"Hehehe, Gojo-sensei didn't explain when he showed this to me, he just said it would be a good head start for my training with you," Yuta explained, making Kusakabe sweat-drop.
'You didn't even tell the kid what it does when you taught it to him, Gojo? Wait, how the hell can he use it if he doesn't know the specifics of it?' The man questioned in his head before he shrugged.
'Not my problem. Either way, the kid's 'Simple Domain' is more than good enough to learn 'New Shadow Style' as soon as possible.' He thought to himself.
Yuta watched in surprise as his new teacher expanded his 'Simple Domain,' completely covering his entire training ground. If Yuta had to guess, he would say it was a circle with a diameter of around 10 meters. He looked back up when he felt the man looking at him.
"A 'Simple Domain' is just an 'Anti-Domain Technique' that erects a small 'Domain' complete with a barrier around the user to protect them from 'Domain Expansions'." The swordsman explained as he crouched down and grabbed the hilt of his sheathed katana.
"'New Shadow Style' on the other hand, has strict 'Binding Vows' in place so that the knowledge of how to perform it is only passed on to descendants of the original creator. Gojo said you'll be fine if I just show them to you, you think you'll be fine?" Kusakabe explained and asked.
When he got a confident nod in response, he shrugged his shoulders and got into a fully crouched position with both hands still holding the hilt of his katana.
"New Shadow Style: Battō Sword Drawing"
*SHNK* *SHNK*
Yuta watched in awe as two leaves fell into Kusakabe's 'Simple Domain' and the man unsheathed his katana and cut them both in half.
"The main strength of 'New Shadow Style: Battō Sword Drawing' is the speed of the attack that is caused by the 'Cursed Energy' covering the blade," Kusakabe said as he sheathed his katana again. He was going to try and explain a bit more without violating the 'Binding Vows' that prevented him from doing exactly that, but he finally realized what Gojo meant when he said that the kid only needed to see him to it, and that would be enough.
"New Shadow Style: Battō Sword Drawing!!!"
*SHNK*
Yuta's eyes turned to stars, and Kusakabe's jaw dropped when the 13-year-old perfectly replicated the attack just by watching it be used one time.
'What the hell is Gojo putting in this kid's food? He didn't even need any 'Binding Vows' to do that!' Kusakabe thought to himself as he looked at Yuta, who had manifested Rika and was getting her to throw rocks at him so he could cut them, in a bit of horror at his potential and a lot of relief that he was an ally.
*BOOOOM*
'Thank god I'll never have to fight this kid.' Kusakabe thought to himself with a sweat-drop as he watched the kid accidentally leave a small crater in the ground when he overextended his swing. He just shook his head after a few seconds before clearing his throat to get his student's attention.
*AHEM*
Kusakabe's sweat-drop grew when Yuta turned to him with a 'What did I do wrong?' look on his face.
"Just watch me until I'm done. It's obvious you just need to watch me do it to be able to do it yourself, so just watch closely." He said, getting a serious nod from Yuta after the boy got Rika to go back.
Kuakabe crouched down again, but this time, he held his katana out in front of him with both hands instead of at his hip. He opened his 'Simple Domain' and looked up at Yuta.
"Within my 'Simple Domain', the output of my 'Cursed Energy' is increased, and any 'Cursed Technique' that enters it is weakened. The main function of this attack is to be able to automatically intercept and deflect any attacks that intrude into it through sword-drawing. Use any long-range attack you have on me. It'll help with demonstrating this move." The swordsman explained and ordered, getting a nod from Yuta. The kid unsheathed his katana again and covered it in enough 'Cursed Energy' to make Kusakabe sweat.
'Thankfully, I know this kid can output 'Positive Energy', or else there is no way in hell I'd try to block this.' The man thought to himself as he watched the terrifying attack fly towards him.
*FWOOOOM*
The swordsman almost screamed when Yuta suddenly swung his katana, which created a massive shockwave that was sent at him at high speeds. Kusakabe felt the nervous sweat on his forehead grow.
"New Shadow Style: Evening Moon Sword Drawing!!!"
*SHNK*
As soon as the attack entered his 'Simple Domain', Kusakabe unsheathed his katana and deflected the attack. Yuta noticed how it was like the katana was drawn to the attack as soon as it entered the 'Simple Domain'.
"Defensively, 'Evening Moon Sword Drawing' can be used to protect yourself from ranged attacks. By reading the opponent's movements and occurrences of their 'Cursed Energy', you can even deflect invisible attacks." Kusakabe explained before he expanded his 'Simple Domain' from 10 meters to 25 meters, stunning Yuta as he listened with all of his attention.
"By expanding the range of the 'Simple Domain' and including their opponent in its radius, the user can use 'Evening Moon Sword Drawing' offensively. This allows the user to automatically and quickly assault them with numerous attacks." He explained, and before Yuta could realize what was happening, he was getting stabbed all over his body.
Yuta immediately used the 'Reversed Cursed Technique' as he jumped back, caught off-guard by the attack. Kusakabe flashed him an apologetic smile, to which the 13-year-old smiled and shook his head.
Kusakabe watched again in disbelief as Yuta performed 'Evening Moon Sword Drawing' close to perfect on his first attempt.
'What the hell is going on? How is this kid learning this so fast??' Kusakabe thought to himself in disbelief as he watched Yuta perform 'Evening Moon Sword Drawing' almost as well as he when he had been practicing for practically his entire adult life.
Kusakabe just silently watched Yuta practice a few times before the kid was using it as well as he could.
*SIGH*
The swordsman just let out a sigh and got into a new stance, making Yuta stop his practice and look over.
Yuta watched in awe as Kusakabe covered his blade in concentrated 'Cursed Energy', much more concentrated than Yuta thought was possible.
"This technique is called 'Hazy Moon'. It allows the user to form their 'Cursed Energy' into the shape of the blade after it's broken. The blade made out of 'Cursed Energy' has physical properties akin to a real sword, letting you continue attacking with a broken weapon." Kusakabe explained before he continued covering his blade in concentrated 'Cursed Energy'.
"It can also be applied over your blade while it's still in one piece to strengthen it." The swordsman finished as he held his blade right in front of Yuta so he could get a good look.
Kusakabe just watched silently as Yuta inspected his katana for a few seconds before he nodded and unsheathed his again.
*SIGH*
The swordsman just lets out a sigh when Yuta once again uses 'Hazy Moon' on his first try and will most likely catch up to his proficiency within a minute of practice.
"Can I apply 'Binding Vows' to my 'Simple Domain' while I uses 'New Shadow Style'?" Yuta asked with a confused face, making Kusakabe thank whoever was listening for allowing him to feel like he had taught the kid at least one thing before he answered.
"Yes, you can. I use different 'Binding Vows' to change the size of my 'Simple Domain' or my attacks. Just remember this rule: you can use 'Binding Vows' on anything, but it's only effective if you use the right one." The man said, getting an understanding nod from the 13-year-old.
Kusakabe looked at Yuta for a few seconds before he unsheathed his katana and held it in both hands, confusing the boy.
"The only thing you're missing with your swordsmanship is technique, so we are going to spar with only our katana. No using any 'Cursed Energy'." Kusakabe explained as he saw the confusion on Yuta's face. Yuta's confused face turned into a deadpan, with his mouth slightly hanging open.
"Huh?"
*SHNK* "AHH!!"
Yuta looked down incredulously at the cut on his shoulder.
'I barely saw him move. I knew I was on the weaker side when I didn't use 'Cursed Energy' to strengthen my body, but holy shit!!' Yuta thought to himself as he healed the wound on reflex.
*SHNK* *SHNK* "OWW!!"
"I already told you that you can't use 'Cursed Energy' in this training. That includes the 'Reverse Cursed Technique' as well." Kusakabe said to Yuta, who was about to heal the new wounds he had. He slowly looked back up with a nervous smile on his face.
"Oh fuck..." *SHNK* "OWW!!!"
