The sunlight streaming through the blinds filled my home office as I sat at my desk, sipping coffee and typing away on my laptop. For the first time in days, I felt a glimmer of hope.
Laura hadn't shut me out completely, and I could sense that if I played my cards right, there might still be a chance to make things right between us. After our little talk yesterday, she seemed open to the idea of us getting back together. She just needs time and I'm ready to wait for as long as it takes. The thought spurred me into action as I worked through some business proposals, trying to stay productive while mentally drafting ways to win her trust back.
Everything seemed peaceful until my phone started buzzing relentlessly. Frowning, I picked it up, only to see countless notifications, messages, emails, and social media alerts. Confusion quickly turned to dread as I opened one of the messages.
