Chereads / Mom, Save Your Tears For Me / Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

In the next few days, their lives seemed to return to normal.

My dad went to work as usual, and my mom took care of Wendy as usual, preparing things for her to go to college.

One day, she went to the supermarket to buy groceries and ran into Gina Chandler and Gina's daughter, Celia Walker.

Celia was my high school classmate, the only person who was kinda close to me.

After seeing my mom, Celia walked towards her.

"Mrs. Buckley, where is Violet? I just came back from my aunt's house and couldn't reach her by phone. "

My mom stood still, her pupils trembling while she held the basket tightly.

She vaguely said, "She … is very rebellious. Maybe she has gone out somewhere to play. I don't know. "

Celia looked puzzled. "No way. Violet is very obedient. She tells me she cares no one but her family. She once wrote about her family, and she won a prize for her essay. You don't know? "Mrs. Buckley, don't blame me for saying this, OK? I don't think you're treating Violet well enough. She's perfect. She's thoughtful, reasonable, and gentle. She has never had a conflict with any one.

"She grew up with you since she was little. Do you really know nothing about her?"

Celia knew one thing or two about my situation. Gina loved her very much, and she said several times that she didn't know why my family treated me so badly.

I knew she was speaking up for me.

My mom's face became paler, and her body shook a bit.

Seeing that, Gina immediately grabbed Celia and asked Celia to stop talking.

"Celia is just a kid. She doesn't know what she's talking about. Don't take it seriously. We're leaving. "

After they left, my mom couldn't hold on any longer. She leaned against the wall and squatted on the ground, and it took a long time for her to stand up with difficulty.

She walked forward with lifeless eyes.

She was stopped by a vendor after a few steps.

The vendor and her were old acquaintances, and he warmly greeted her when he saw her.

"These are the mushrooms I picked on the mountain after the rain. They're perfect for soup.

"Your daughter loves mushrooms, right? I knew you were coming today, and I saved them for you. "

His words, including "the rain", "the mountain", and "the mushrooms" echoed in my mom's ears.

These words related to me were like bombs, causing her to react strongly.

My mom's hands trembled uncontrollably, and the basket fell to the ground.

Her chest heaved violently, and she couldn't even breathe.

She turned around abruptly and ran, not caring even if she was running in the wrong direction.

The rain in the rainy season came suddenly, and many people on the street that day saw a woman running in the rain.

She sometimes laughed and sometimes cried.

Meanwhile, she was murmuring something that no one could understand.
