Chapter 11 - the tournament(4)

Commentator: "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the grand finale! The fight we've all been waiting for—between the two strongest students at this academy!"

The crowd roared with anticipation.

Commentator: "And those two students are… Henry Banks and Dakota Leal!"

Crowd: "Let's go, Henry! You got this!"

Crowd: "Come on, Dakota! Take him down and claim victory!"

Both Dakota and Henry walked up to the fighting stage, facing each other with calm but intense expressions. The atmosphere was electric, charged with both excitement and tension.

Henry: "So, Dakota… are you ready for me to take that number one spot from you?"

Dakota: "Confident, aren't we? I don't think you're taking anything from me today. I'm walking out of here as number one."

Henry: "Oh, you think so? I'm feeling pretty confident myself. After all, I haven't lost a match yet."

Dakota: "Neither have I. So I guess this will be your first."

Henry: "Yeah? We'll see about that. I think you're underestimating me."

Dakota: "Maybe. But as your creator, I'm the only one worthy of giving you your first real defeat."

Up in the stands, two figures were watching intently.

Mako: "Who do you think is going to win, Miko?"

Miko, Mako's younger sister and leader of the second-ranked guild, the Blue Wolves, turned to her older brother with a thoughtful look.

Miko: "Hmm… I think Dakota has a slight edge. What about you?"

Mako: "I'm going with Henry. He's got something in him that I think will give him the upper hand."

Miko: "Guess we'll find out soon enough."

Commentator: "Alright, fighters… begin!"

As soon as the commentator announced the start, Dakota and Henry launched fireballs at each other. Their spells collided in mid-air, creating an explosion that covered the entire stage in smoke. The crowd gasped, momentarily blinded by the intense burst of light and sound.

Dakota: "Already starting off with a bang, huh?"

The smoke cleared just in time for Dakota to see a flame-formed sword flying toward him. He barely dodged to the side as it whizzed past, the heat singeing his arm.

Henry: "Not bad. You dodged. Maybe this won't be as easy as I thought."

Dakota: "Thanks, I guess."

Dakota: (thinking) "Can't believe I'm getting compliments from my own main character. But I guess that's how it should be. This fight is going to be epic."

Dakota summoned his own flame sword, activating Flame Boost as he charged forward. Their swords clashed with a crackle of heat and energy, both refusing to yield. The force of the clash sent tremors through the stage, and both fighters were pushed back, each quickly regaining their footing.

Dakota attempted a slash with his sword, but Henry dodged with impressive agility, countering with a quick strike of his own. Dakota moved just in time, dodging backward, but Henry followed up, landing a glancing blow to Dakota's shoulder. The crowd winced as Dakota staggered slightly, gripping his injured arm.

Dakota: "Damn… forgot how skilled he is with a sword. Should've known this wouldn't be easy."

Henry: "How's that for a taste of my skill, creator?"

Dakota: "Alright, you got me there. But don't think I'm going down that easily."

To Henry's surprise, Dakota used the same move Ava had performed against Amelia earlier. Henry had only a split second to react, and the fiery blast caught him off guard, sending him tumbling backward.

Henry: "Ah, damn, that burns… but I can handle it."

Dakota: "Even with an injured shoulder, you're still not getting the win, Henry."

Henry: "Like I said, we'll see."

Dakota watched him carefully, recognizing the determination in his eyes. This wasn't just any opponent; this was his own main character, a warrior he had created to be resilient and unstoppable.

Henry: "Come on, Dakota. Let's see what you've really got!"

Henry activated Flame Boost again, charging forward, but this time, he leaped into the air mid-sprint, adding momentum to his attack. He swung his sword downward with incredible force.

Henry: "Let's go, Dakota!"

Dakota smirked, taking the challenge head-on as he poured more power into his own sword. They met in mid-air, their swords crashing together in an explosion of flames and energy. The shockwave from their clash sent sparks flying and rattled the entire arena.

Liam: "Holy shit! That was intense… are they okay?"

Lucas: "After that? I'm not so sure."

Mia: "I hope Dakota's okay. That looked brutal."

Ava: "Please be okay, Dakota. You have to win this!"

Luna: "That clash was something else."

Amelia: "It even surpasses our fights."

Jack: "Damn… just how strong are those two?"

Commentator: "Unbelievable! That was an intense clash! Are the fighters alright?"

In the stands, Mako and Miko exchanged impressed glances.

Mako: "They're even stronger than I thought."

Miko: "They're really pushing each other to the limit."

As the smoke cleared, both Dakota and Henry struggled to their feet, visibly battered and bloodied but still standing.

Dakota: "Not bad, Henry. That was one hell of a clash."

Henry: "Yeah, I'll admit, that was probably the best clash I've ever experienced."

Dakota: "Same here. But we're not done yet, are we?"

Henry: "Nope. We're far from done. Let's finish this."

Dakota nodded, and the two began preparing for their final moves, channeling all their remaining energy into one last clash. The crowd fell silent, holding their breath, every eye fixed on the two warriors on the stage.

Henry: "Should we go all out?"

Dakota: "Of course. There's no other way to end this."

Both fighters pushed their power to the maximum, their auras flaring with heat and intensity that left the crowd in awe.

Henry was the first to charge, but just as he neared Dakota, something unexpected happened. Dakota transformed his entire body into fire, engulfing Henry in a blaze. Before Henry could react, Dakota muttered one word:

Dakota: "Explosion."

A massive burst of flames erupted, enveloping Henry and sending waves of heat across the stage. The sheer force of the attack overwhelmed Henry, who collapsed, unable to withstand the intense power. The arena was silent for a moment, then erupted in cheers as everyone realized what had just happened.

Crowd: "OHHHHHH!"

The thunderous cheers filled the air, the excitement almost palpable as everyone celebrated Dakota's victory.

Liam: "Oh, damn! Dakota won!"

Mia: "That was the most intense fight I've ever witnessed!"

Lucas: "I didn't even know Dakota had that technique up his sleeve!"

Ava: "YES! He did it! He won!"

Luna: "I… I can't believe it. Henry actually lost."

Amelia: "It's surreal. Henry losing like this…"

Jack: "Damn it! I was supposed to be the one to give him his first loss, not Dakota!"

Commentator: "And the winner of this match… is Dakota Leal!"

The crowd erupted once again, with fans cheering and screaming Dakota's name. Dakota, panting and exhausted, looked down at Henry with a proud smile.

Dakota: "See? I told you I'd be the one to give you your first loss."

As the medics arrived to tend to Henry, Dakota spoke softly.

Dakota: "But don't worry. Losing will only make you stronger. This defeat will fuel your growth."

He crouched beside his unconscious rival, speaking as if Henry could still hear him.

Dakota: "So grow stronger, my main character. Become even more powerful than you were in the original story."

As Dakota stood, his friends rushed over to congratulate him.

Liam: "Dakota! That was insane!"

Mia: "You were incredible out there."

Lucas: "I think you just raised the bar for all of us."

Ava: "You did it, Dakota! You really did it!"

Dakota: "Thanks, everyone. I gave it everything I had. But Henry was an amazing opponent. He'll be back stronger than ever."

The crowd's cheers echoed through the arena as Dakota and his friends celebrated, knowing they had just witnessed the beginning of a legacy that would be remembered for years to come.
