Chapter 6 - the characters(1)

Dakota: "So, this is it. My mission in this world begins here."

Standing at the entrance of the academy, I take a deep breath, feeling the weight of my goals pressing down on me. My mission is simple but challenging: to grow as strong as possible and to help my friends—along with the characters I created—reach their full potential. I know what lies ahead of us: the looming threat of the two devils and their powerful organization. To face them, we need to become unstoppable.

We make our way to the classroom and find our seats. As we enter, a girl with blonde hair and striking golden eyes catches my attention. She has a familiar elegance about her that makes her stand out.

Dakota: thinking "Ah, that must be Amelia Ellis, the first female lead of my novel. She's supposed to be from England."

In the world I created, there are two female leads, both of whom attend this academy. I can't believe they're here in front of me, as real as any other person. And somewhere in this academy, the rival of my main character, Henry, is here too.

Lucas: "Alright, guys, let's grab our seats. Let's make sure we all sit together."

We all take our seats as Lucas suggests, with Ava sitting next to me, Mia beside Liam, and Lucas on my other side.

Suddenly, the door opens, and a girl's voice fills the room.

???: "Ah, I'm so sorry for being late, teacher. Can I come in, please?"

Teacher: sighing "Alright, you may enter, but don't let this happen again, or you'll be in trouble."

???: "Yes, sir. I'm really sorry, and it won't happen again."

The girl takes her seat, and I immediately recognize her.

Dakota: thinking "And there she is—Luna Jenkins, the second female lead in my novel."

Luna Jenkins has long black hair and deep brown eyes, standing at around 166 cm. Her demeanor radiates confidence, but there's a warmth to her smile.

The teacher clears his throat, bringing the class to order.

Teacher: "Alright, now that everyone is here, let's begin today's lesson."

This class is theory-based, covering the basics of our world and its magic system. This is a class I know I'll ace since everything they teach here is knowledge I already possess. After all, I created this world myself. I sit back, half-listening, and let my thoughts wander as the lesson progresses. Finally, the class ends, and we all make our way out of the room when suddenly an announcement echoes through the academy.

Announcement: "Attention, all students. Please make your way to the training grounds."

Everyone around us starts chattering in excitement. We all head to the training grounds as instructed, where a teacher stands on a raised platform, looking out over the assembled students.

Teacher: "Alright, students. The reason I've gathered you here is to announce the student rankings within the academy."

Dakota: thinking "Of course, I already know the rankings, and I know exactly who will be in the top ten."

The teacher continues, and the crowd falls silent as he begins the announcements.

Teacher: "We'll start with the top ten rankings."

One by one, he begins listing the names.

Teacher: "10th place: Olivia Keller."

There are murmurs in the crowd as Olivia, a shy-looking girl, blushes in response.

Teacher: "9th place: Luna Jenkins."

Luna: grumbling "Only 9th place? What kind of nonsense is this?"

Teacher: "8th place: Mia Lopez."

Mia: sighing "Only 8th? I wanted to rank higher, but I guess I'll take it."

Teacher: "7th place: Amelia Ellis."

Amelia: gasping "What?! But I'm royalty!"

Teacher: "6th place: Liam Hayes."

Liam: frustrated "Damn it! Only 6th? I expected better."

Teacher: "5th place: Ava Marley."

Ava: smiling confidently "Fifth place? I'll take it."

Teacher: "4th place: Jack Davies."

Jack's face twists in anger as he clenches his fists.

Jack: "What the hell? How am I only in 4th place?"

Dakota: thinking "Ah, so there's Jack Davies, the main character's rival. He has white hair and red eyes, while Liam, my friend, has white eyes."

Teacher: "3rd place: Lucas Evans."

Lucas: grinning "Third place, huh? I'm pretty happy with that!"

Teacher: "2nd place: Henry Banks."

Henry: looking stunned "Second place? This is the first time I haven't been first."

I can't help but smirk to myself, knowing exactly why.

Dakota: thinking "Sorry, Henry. If I didn't exist, you would have taken first place."

Teacher: "And in 1st place… Dakota Leal."

The crowd erupts in shocked whispers as everyone turns to look at me.

Students: "Whoa! So Dakota got first place instead of Henry? That's unexpected!"

Lucas: smiling proudly "I knew Dakota would get first place."

Ava: murmuring to herself "Of course, my future boyfriend would be number one."

I raise an eyebrow, a little amused at how surprised everyone is. My friends aren't shocked at all, though—they know what I'm capable of. Just then, Henry approaches me, extending his hand.

Henry: "Hello, Dakota Leal. I'm Henry Banks. Nice to meet you."

Dakota: shaking his hand "Nice to meet you too, Henry."

Henry: smiling politely "I'll admit, I was surprised to see someone else take first place. This is the first time I haven't been the top student."

Dakota: grinning "Yeah, I figured you'd be used to holding the top spot. People call you the most talented student in the academy, after all. But now I plan to take that title and become the strongest student here."

I think to myself how odd it feels to be in this world, challenging the very main character I created. But at the same time, I'm committed to making him stronger. Even if I take first place, I want Henry to grow as well.

Henry: smirking "Oh, is that so? Then bring it on—I accept your challenge."

Before I can respond, Jack steps forward, glaring at me.

Jack: "Hey, you! Who do you think you are? I'm going to be the most powerful, not you."

Liam: stepping forward "Watch your mouth, Jack."

Jack: scoffing "Oh, and what do you want?"

Liam: "I want you to apologize for talking so rudely to my friend."

Jack: "And why should I? You're only 6th place, while I'm in 4th. Do you really think you can take me on?"

Liam: "Why don't we find out?"

The tension escalates as the two of them stare each other down, both ready to fight. Before they can throw any punches, Henry and I step in to break them apart.

Henry: "Calm down, Jack. Fighting here won't accomplish anything."

Dakota: placing a hand on Liam's shoulder "Hey, relax. Look around—there are teachers watching us. You can't pick a fight here."

Liam: grumbling "Fine, but you got lucky, Jack. If it weren't for the teachers, I'd have wiped the floor with you."

Jack: sneering "Yeah, right. Like you could do anything to me."

Lucas: "Why don't you both save it for the tournament?"

Dakota: "Yeah, that's a good idea, Lucas. You two can face off in the tournament coming up in two months."

I explain the tournament to everyone—a highly anticipated event where students fight in front of spectators, including guild recruiters looking for promising talent.

Dakota: "So it's settled. You two can have your fight in the tournament. Until then, focus on training and getting stronger."

Jack: smirking "Fine. I'll see you in the tournament, Liam."

Liam: "Yeah, I'll see you there too."

With that, Jack and Liam turn and walk off, the rivalry between them now set in stone. Everyone leaves the training grounds, buzzing with excitement. I can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction watching the world and characters I created come to life around me. The journey ahead is going to be difficult, but I'm ready to face whatever comes next.

Dakota: thinking to myself "Let's do this. My story is just beginning."
