Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

The following 5 minutes were silent, the only sound that I could hear were our steps, Aizawa seemed to be the quiet type, and I was too nervous to ask or say anything, no matter the Willpower I gained, this might be the most important moment of my life, and I can't mess it up, so it's only normal for me to feel like this.

Aizawa led me inside a big structure, with the word gym outside, I think it might be the bathroom(sarcastic), inside of it there were several instruments, and also something that me halt my steps.

"Is that a robot?" I genuinely asked while pointing at a slim human-shaped figure, standing straight, on top of a dojo tatami mat big enough to be used in a tournament.

Aizawa ignored me and instead went for the first machine inside the gym, they looked like dumbbells, but instead of the usual weight at the side, a metallic piece with a screen had taken its place.

" These are special quirk-built dumbbells, they can be used to change the weight by simply using a quirk."

" Wow, this is my first time seeing a quirk-built invention, is it true-"

" I swear to god kid, I am not paid enough to be stormed with your questions, just lift it." Aizawa interrupted me while massaging his temple.

I immediately shut up and went for the dumbbells, the weight had been previously set for 30 Kg.

Ignoring the stare, I used the configuration on the dumbbell to set it to 150 KG, I immediately felt the strain on my muscles, having to use all of my strength to lift it just with one arm.

Placing it on the ground I set up the other dumbbell and started using them, since Aizawa hadn't said how much I had to do, I continued until I felt that my muscles would have been too damaged, resting at 20 reps.

" Good enough for now, your strength can be compared to an untrained adult with a strength-based quirk, but we will also test your lower core strength, and the strength if you were to use your whole body."

Signing, I followed Aizawa, and continued the test, resulting in a 300 max Kg squat, and a maximum of 400 KG if I were to use my whole body to push or pull something, hey, I even gained a point in Str and End.

" Honestly kid, I have no idea how you were able to push your body to this point, but this isn't the end of the test, we will test your speed, both in a swimming context and during a normal run, while also testing your maximum stamina."

That had been my favourite part, the swimming had me forced into my boxers, but aside from that it had been mind-opening to finally have someone test my speed and stamina because it had resolved to me that my swimming speed was 9.7 Km/h and my running speed was 12.3 Km/h, Aizawa had given up testing my stamina after I continued to run at the same speed for 30 minutes my breath being the same for all the duration of said test.

' Stamina regen is busted, change my mind.'

The tests went on, punching strength, grip strength, side jumps, long jump, pain tolerance, flexibility, reflexes, and some other small irrelevant tests.

"... Are you sure your quirk is only Inventory?" Aizawa asked me while looking at my test results.

" Pretty sure, it's the only non-explainable thing I can do."

Aizawa sighed and moved for the last test, the robot.

" We will now test your fighting skills, you said you are experienced in martial arts, so for each one, we will perform a test, and then a last one where you can fight however you prefer, we will start with Karate."

I nodded, I pulled my pants up to free legs and lowered my stance, placing one hand to my side and another forward the palm facing one of the walls.

Aizawa pressed a button and the robot came to life, looked around for a single minute, and then pointed towards me with his head, in a split second it had started rushing forward.

The start of the battle had been unfair for it, its skill level much lower than mine, but with each passing minute, I was forced more and more on the defensive, having to push attack away or even having to directly sacrifice a part of my body to not get hit in a vital area.

A similar scenario went on for all singular martial arts tests, by the end some nasty bruises were starting to appear, but nothing that wouldn't heal with a good night's sleep.

" You aren't skilled in all of them as you said, karate and boxing seem to be your most developed ones, anyway, we will now test your overall fighting ability, you can fight however you want."

Nodding I take a big breath to relax and my mind slips back into focus, my fighting pose being a mixture between karate and tawkendo.

For a second the air seemed to be as thick as honey, but after than endless second, we both moved like springs.

The robot seemed to think that my first action would have been a punch since my body was punched forward and one of my arms was raised, but just as he was about to raise his defences, I used my flexibility to bring one of my legs forwards and smash against back leg, using all of my leg strength to try and make it fall.

The robot thought had a sense of balance beyond normal humans so even with a raised leg he stayed unmoving, trying to counter the unexpected attack.

Not letting him breathe I followed with elbow strikes, punches, palm strikes, and knee strikes, I used my whole arsenal to beat the shit out of it, not activating any active skill to test out only my fighting skills.

As a last-ditch effort, I blocked both of the robot's arms after I evaded another attack, used the leg of the robot to jump up and then pulled my knee right towards its face, causing a dent in the metal skin of the robot.

" That's enough."

And just as a punch was about to hit my left cheek, the robot stopped, turning itself off.

" Your overall fighting ability is impressive, you possess enough creativity to change fighting style mid-battle and even fuse them, though not perfectly, and you know your way around taking hits when needed and when not to, honestly kid, you hadn't so many missing screws and you hadn't been this much of a fanboy I would have taken you for myself, but aside from this, you have finished all tests."

" Did do well? Maybe I can try again if I am missing some points."

Aizawa looked at me with what I can only describe as a thousand-yard stare, his mouth flinching at my words, and his hand snapping the pencil he had been holding.

"... I swear to god you have so many missing screws."
