Chereads / Battle For The Orb / Chapter 4 - A Strange Door.

Chapter 4 - A Strange Door.

" Aibeck! What are you doing?!" As Elidi arrived, he was suddenly enraged by Aibeck's action. A few years ago, he and Aibeck made a decision on not controlling any human against their own will.

Aibeck just stared at Elidi with a somewhat nervous smile," I didn't force him, he just decided to be a nice gentelman and wanted to escort me to the palace,"

Elidi still looked enraged, so he went to the front of the guard, and checked his eyes, but there was nothing in his eyes, the guard just looked a little woozy, like as if he was drunk.

Usually, if Aibeck decides to control a person against their own will, the white side of their eyes would become black. It would become, pure black, but this time, the guard's eyes were still normal, but he was still in some kind of trance, so what's happening?

" Aibeck, what is this?" Elidi asked with a strength look on his face.

Aibeck smiled mischievously," I learnt a new type of sorcery. I learnt how a witch uses magic. And so, instead of using primordial magic everytime and be wasting a lot of magical energy, I could be using witch's magic and save a lot of energy. Also don't worry, i didn't force a witch to give me her spells.

Magical energy is a type of energy that surrounds the air, the body of a latent wizard or witch would be able to instinctively absorb magical energy till it's satisfied and has a lot of magical energy.

Every single witch and wizard, has his or her own capacity to hold magical energy. Actually, the rank of a wizard is known with the amount of magical energy that he can store in his body.

Those with lower amount of capacity, won't be able to make use of large and powerful spells, or else it would deplete their magical energy completely. But those with a higher capacity would be powerful enough to level a city, as long as they know the right spells.

For Primordials like Elidi and Aibeck, they have such a huge capacity that even if they used the strongest spell in the world a hundred times, it still wouldn't deplete half of their magical energy.

But the reason why Elidi has a problem with Aibeck using witches magic is that, he doesn't know any witches, so how did he get his hands on witches magic spells? Also, primordials don't take anything related to magic from others except if those others were as close to them as family.

So if Aibeck didn't force a witch to give him her spells, then how did he get it? What is he missing? What's happening to his brother?

" Elidi, we need a place to stay, using this guard to assign audience with the king of this strange kingdom, we would be able to ask him for somewhere to stay," Aibeck said, as he stared at Elidi expectantly.

Elidi decided to put everything about how Aibeck found that spell at the back of his head, as he tried to focus on the current situation.

Wether he liked it or not, Aibeck was right about them needing a place to stay. If they stayed outside in an enclosed area, Aibeck wouldn't be able to seal the space properly for them to be able to talk to Universe or, the second in command of the universe.

" Fine. But, no one is going to force anyone to do anything. Understand?" Elidi said, while squinting his eyes at Aibeck.

" I promise," Aibeck said in a pleasing tone, as he beckoned the guard to continue and lead the way.

As the three arrived at the entrance, the other guard that was there was confused, for his comrade went alone, and now he was coming back with two men in cloaks.

" Andrew, who are these men?" The guard asked, the moment all three of them arrived at the gate to the palace.

"Th-"

" Let me take care of the introductions," Before the guard named Andrew who was 'escorting' them to the palace was about to talk, he was suddenly interrupted by Aibeck.

" Well, who are you then?" The guard said with a serious exppression. He had a feeling that something wasn't right here, and the way Andre is looking, he doesn't even seem fine. There's definitely something wrong with these cloakes men, I have to be cautious.

" We, are...zuchrona," Immediately, the guard slumped to the ground and fell asleep.

Seeing what just happened, Elidi just kept quiet, and began to think deeply.

" Well, let's go," Aibeck said with a big jolly smile, as the guard, Andrew, took the lead, and Aibeck followed closely behind.

Entering the palace, they were greeted on all sides with luxurious walls and antiques that lay on small podiums on each side of the hallway.

The palace was huge and grandous in every way. As the three were walking towards the throne room, some servants would pass by and look at them suspiciously, but the moment they saw that they were being escorted by a guard, their suspicious immediately died down to respect.

In Velhihem, guards are known as protectors of life, and so they are taken very seriously, if a guard is next to you, or you're being escorted by a guard, it means you're a big shot, someone important enough to see the king.

As the three finally arrived at the entrance of the throne room, the guard told them wait a bit while he goes and inform the king about them.

As they waited staring at the golden door that leads to the throne room, Elidi and Aibeck suddenly had a serious exppression on their faces, they could feel something pugent and corrosive trying to eat up their life force, but they were too strong for such a weak thing as that to take even a minute of their life force.

But the moment they stared back at the door, they didn't see a beautiful golden door with great engravings.

They saw a huge door covered in curses.
