"Oh, come on, mate, we both know you've always felt more attracted to her, and that you began to date Cleo just to make her angry, because we thought you two were the ones she hated the most. I can tell what you feel, the partnering bond, remember? Brothers linked in soul and in other lives, we are connected in a way deeper than thought. So, I know how you feel when she's around, how you're always looking for her wherever we are in here."

"It's nothing."

"Then should we hand her over to the high,"

"No!" I yelled before I could hold myself and he grinned wolfishly. "Ugh, why don't you go to hell? I feel nothing for her. Am I a bit attracted? Yes, everyone is, she's the hottest female in the entire academy, no one need to like her to say this. But nothing can happen, it doesn't matter if she loves me to my dismay, because I'll never be able to do anything after mistreating her like I did, even if I wanted to, which I do not."

He stared at me, clearly not believing me, pissing me off, "So, we'll tell the headmaster, right?"

I passed my hands over my hair, "We have to think of a way first, we can't throw her to the high demons, Ken. We don't know what type of dragon she is, we don't know how much she knows, we don't know who her father was, we don't know why the high demons are so eager to get their hands on her, and we also don't have any idea of what she could bring to the table. Her father was able to kill one, and if my instincts are right, he didn't die when he did that, he died by sealing her magic with what he had left, that's the only way I can think off, given how dragons are the only race who can seal one's powers."

He bit his bottom lip, finally getting on the same page as me, "You think she could be strong enough to... kill them? Could she know how to do that?"

"She did say that we wouldn't be able to do shit with our fighting style, and that this was not the way to kill a high demon. If she said that, confidently as she did, she definitely, somehow, knows what to do. Maybe her father taught her, and maybe the only reason she allowed herself to go through what she did here was because her magic is sealed away. She might not know how to unsealed it, mate, so maybe, if we try to help her unsealing it, she could help us dealing with the high demons."

His eyes widened softly, "That actually sounds good."

"Thank you."

"But you really think she would teach us shit after how we mistreated her all of those years?"

I bit my bottom lip, "I'm taking a leap of faith in the fact that she apparently is in love with me. If she is, which does sound absurd, but she didn't deny it when Cleopatra claimed it, she wouldn't let me just die here at the hands of the high demons."

"But we can't tell her we know that."

"And I won't," I passed my hand through my hair, then I grabbed my phone that I had left in here and opened the chat with Cleopatra.

"What are you doing?" He leaned closer to sneak at it.

I said nothing.

ME: Cleo, we have to talk.

ME: There's something I need to tell you.

ME: I've been postponing it since classes got back from summer vacation, but I can't keep doing this to me.

"You're going to do it, now?" He raised his eyebrows.

"I don't see why not. I'm hoping she'll get the idea that I want to break up, and do it herself, so shit won't get so weird. I can't let her know the real reason, and I can't get weird yet, since that could make her fuck harder with Tara," it's weird to call her this, but it feels... right. "She's typing," I grinned.

"Already?" He gasped, jumping to sit at my side.

CLEO: Ah, Micah, I also have to talk to you.

CLEO: I don't want to hurt you.

CLEO: But I can't keep it for too long.

"See? By how she talked about me being a hybrid, I knew she wouldn't let me be the one to break up, or she would feel humiliated, and it would be worse," I winked.

"You read right through her."

"Took me long enough," I chuckled bitterly.

ME: Can we meet?

ME: Outside the dorms.

"Typing," I said, seeing the three dots moving.

CLEO: Sure.

CLEO: Let's meet in the cafeteria.

CLEO: I'll feel better there, okay?

"This bitch wants to show everyone that she's the one breaking up with you, just like she did to all of her other exes," Ken scowled. "How did we not see through her, Micah? Ugh, I'm so bloody annoyed."

"I don't really care," I rolled my shoulders, standing up. "I'm just too nauseous to be her boyfriend any longer. She's not the person I thought she was, and she is prejudicial of me, which disgusts me, just like when Tara mocked me about it. It made me want to strangle her. But at least now I know that she doesn't look down on me, she looks down on everyone, because she's a dragon."

"Or so we believe."

"She is, I can feel it," I clenched my jaw.

ME: Of course, Cleo.

ME: Anything that makes you feel better.

ME: I'll feel better there too.

ME: I'm leaving my dorm now.

ME: See you in a bit.

CLEO: Hm.

"Hm," Kento mimicked her but in a annoying high-pitched voice, "ugh, she's getting on my damn nerves. I never thought I would say this, but fuck, she is making me want to murder her. Which I only used to feel when Chione... ugh, Tara, was around."

"Come on, let's go end this problematic situation."
