Amara turned to leave, her legs feeling like jelly as she made her way toward the exit. Finally, I can get out of here. A few more steps and I'm free. Her escape plan was in motion, and she could already see Felix in the distance, checking his phone, blissfully unaware of the chaos she'd just endured.
Just as she was about to make her grand exit, Felix looked up, his eyes narrowing as he spotted her… and then he burst into laughter.
"Wow, wow, wait—" Felix held up a hand, struggling to contain his giggles. "What… what are you wearing?"
Amara scowled, yanking off the sunglasses that had been clinging to her face. "It's called a disguise, you moron."
"A disguise?" Felix looked her up and down, clearly biting back another round of laughter. "Is this part of some undercover mission to infiltrate a retirement home? I mean, the wig, the sunglasses, and… is that a trench coat?"
