The viewer count on the live stream stayed steady at 30,000 as they sat down for lunch. The break was brief, but Amara knew they still had a long way to go. At least the worst of it is over, she thought, trying to stay optimistic.
But of course, this show couldn't let anything be that simple. Just as Amara was about to savor the relative peace of a quiet lunch with Felix, the loudspeaker blared.
"Attention, contestants! The next challenge is about to begin. And this time, it's all about… survival of the hungriest!"
Amara groaned. "Oh no. What fresh disaster is this?"
Felix leaned back in his chair, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Oh, you'll love this one. I saw it in the pre-production notes. It's a lunch challenge. The contestants have to complete a ridiculous task, and if they fail, they don't get to eat. Simple, right?"
"Simple? Or sadistic?"
