THE NEXT DAY
Charlotte and Natalie stood in the living room, watching as Rachel lugged her luggage inside. They exchanged disbelieving glances, their faces still reflecting their shock.
"Are we dreaming?" Natalie whispered to Charlotte, her voice shushing. "Rachel actually apologized to us?"
Charlotte nodded in agreement, her eyes wide with wonder. "And she doesn't want Raymond anymore?" she added, her tone laced with skepticism.
They stared at each other for a moment, then turned their attention back to Rachel. Rachel stopped in her tracks, her eyes meeting theirs. "This bag is heavy. Please help me with it," she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability.
Natalie nodded, leaving Charlotte's side to assist Rachel. Charlotte, meanwhile, tilted her head to the side, her expression thoughtful. "Why do I feel like this is unreal?" she mused.
