Charlotte forced a smile, rubbing her elbow. "I've had a change of heart, Nat. Sometimes, you just need a night out."
Natalie's gaze fell, her voice laced with concern. "I don't know, Charlotte. The last time I was at a club...it didn't end well."
Charlotte's expression turned reassuring as she took Natalie's hand. "I'll be right there with you this time. It'll be okay, I promise. This is the perfect chance to leave him in the past."
Natalie met Charlotte's gaze, her eyes locking onto her friend's expectant smile. She wanted to confess that the club was the last place she wanted to be, as it would only remind her of Raymond. But Charlotte's enthusiasm was infectious, and Natalie suspected her friend needed the distraction. So, she relented.
"Alright, let's do it. But we're leaving early," Natalie warned. "I have to work tomorrow to make up for what I missed today."
