Charlotte breathed heavily as she slumped against the door, her back sliding down the wooden panel until she landed on the floor with a soft thud. She buried her face in her hands, her mind drifting with the bold declaration she'd just made to Sebastian.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid," she muttered, tapping her forehead in frustration. Where had she found the audacity to confront him like that? The plan had seemed perfect in her head, but now that the words had left her lips, she couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty. Will he chase her out now he knows her intentions?
