"Why did you take her to your master's place?"
Chi He's face darkened, and there was a trace of irritation in his voice. He had been stifled by Chi Yu earlier, and now, feeling agitated, he took it out on Qi Zhao, who was unlucky enough to cross his path at the wrong time.
Qi Zhao didn't bother to explain much. He simply said, "It was my decision. I accept any punishment you see fit, Boss."
His attitude of admitting fault was far better than Qi Hui's, but Chi He was still not satisfied with his response.
"Yu'er said it was she who forced you to take her out. Which one of you is lying?"
Chi He's sharp gaze bore into Qi Zhao, searching his face for any sign of guilt or unease.
Qi Zhao lowered his long lashes, a shadow of ash-colored blue veiling his eyelids. He concealed all his emotions, while his heart raced inside his chest, yet his face remained an impeccable mask of calm.
