"Not allowed in?"
The old man looked at the three children behind him with surprise, clearly struggling with his decision:
"Let me take them in first. These three little kids have food poisoning and need immediate treatment. After them, I won't bring anyone else to the hospital!
It wasn't that he didn't want to pay for the children; he had donated all his money to the orphanage. Having lived through the harsh times of Second Ninja War and Third Ninja War, he felt a deep sympathy for the orphans there.
You see, the parents of these orphans were mostly ninjas who died in the Third World War.
These orphans were so pitiful that he wanted to help a few of them.
"No, Doctor Toshi, you can't bring anyone in. If I let you in again, I might lose my job!" The security guard said, shaking his head, clearly uncomfortable.
He had orders that Dr. Toshi was not allowed to bring in patients.
If he broke the rules again, he could be fired.
"You..." Doctor Toshi seemed torn. He didn't want to bother the security guard further, but he had no extra money to cover the medical expenses.
"While these three still have a chance to survive, please take them to the other side!" the security guard insisted.
"There's no equipment for treating food poisoning on the other side!" Doctor Toshi said, frustrated. "Find the dean. If that doesn't work, deduct it from my salary next month!"
Food poisoning required specific treatments like gastric lavage and specialized instruments. If it were an injury, he could use chakra treatment and medication.
"Doctor Toshi, please don't make this harder for us!" The guard was embarrassed. "The dean won't agree. He's already made a firm decision!"
Doctor Toshi's face showed disappointment. Without proper equipment, his only option was to use a Chakra Scalpel to remove the food from the stomach and then use Yang Chakra to cleanse the body.
But with no advanced instruments, the survival rate for these three was less than 30%, maybe even only 20%.
Seeing he couldn't get in, he could only move on to the next task.
"Let them go in and get treated first. I will cover the costs!" Genya's voice suddenly rang out, drawing everyone's attention.
The old man didn't know who Genya was, but the security guard recognized him: "Lord Genya, are you paying for the treatment of these three civilians?"
Everyone had heard that the Uchiha clan was proud and often looked down on common people, but Genya was actually willing to pay for their treatment?
"Ridiculous. If I don't pay, who will?" Genya responded with a nod.
"Thank you!" Doctor Toshi said, expressing his gratitude before taking the three children into the hospital. "Little kid, I'll find you after I take care of these three!"
With that, the old doctor left.
Genya didn't pay much attention and took Hikari back to the ward, where they resumed their training.
Knock, knock, knock.
As they were practicing, there was a knock on the door. The attending physician for Hayashi entered, followed by an elderly man—the one who had brought the three patients with food poisoning to the hospital.
"Lord Genya, let me introduce you to my teacher, Yuya Toshi-san!" The attending doctor said as he entered. He then continued, "Thank you for letting my teacher treat those patients. Otherwise, he might have felt guilty for the rest of his life!"
"No need to thank me. I truly admire your teacher's character!" Genya replied and invited them to sit down and talk.
During their conversation, Genya learned more about Yuya Toshi, a top medical ninja who had served in the Second Ninja War and Third Ninja War. He had saved countless injured people and seen the horrors of war firsthand.
Yuya Toshi could have been promoted to a director position if he had made more contributions, but his strong personality and his habit of treating patients without money had caused friction with the higher-ups. As a result, he had remained an attending physician.
"Doctor Toshi, you are a remarkable doctor!" Genya said with respect, looking at Yuya Toshi.
Such people deserve respect.
If the Third Hokage had even a fraction of this old man's character, Konoha wouldn't be in its current state.
"Alas, it's my fault. I'm afraid I won't be able to bring more patients to the hospital after this visit!" Yuya Toshi was a bit embarrassed by Genya's praise. Due to the hospital's restrictions, he couldn't bring any more patients for treatment, which saddened him greatly.
Genya noticed Yuya Toshi's worried expression and had an idea: "Mr. Toshi, what if I open a hospital and make you the head?"
This idea began to take root and spread rapidly in his mind.
Opening a hospital!
With Genya's wealth from his father, it would be easy to set up.
Furthermore, with recent instability and injuries among ninja teams during missions, the costs for the Merchant Guild's hospital services have been high. By opening a hospital, they could provide better care for their team members and give a proper reason to hire top medical ninjas.
There are also long-term benefits to consider.
Hashirama's cells and Uzumaki cells, especially the latter are great for storing chakra and will need many experiments to transplant. They might be used to improve the Infinite Chakra World Technique.
Additionally, having a benevolent doctor like Yuya Toshi as the head could help restore the reputation of some Uchiha clan members.
It's a win-win situation.
Oh, and there's potential to make money too.
Opening a hospital seems like the right decision. I'll convince my father about it today.
"Open a hospital? You...?" Yuya Toshi was skeptical. Genya was still quite young, and even if he wanted to open a hospital, Uchiha Bancheng might not agree.
"Mr. Toshi, please don't doubt me!" Genya noticed the skepticism in Yuya Toshi's eyes and added, "If you join my hospital, the salary will be three times what you're getting here. Also, civilians facing hardships will only pay for the cost of the medicine. Plus, you'll get two free treatment quotas every month, and we'll cover the medical expenses!"
Such favorable terms might not make a lot of money, but they would still be beneficial.
Toshi's eyes also brightened.
He looked at Genya and asked cautiously, "Are you really going to build a hospital? You're not trying to trick me, are you?"
If the conditions are met, he would be thrilled to become the dean.
"You can agree now. If my hospital isn't built within three months, you don't have to join!" Genya said with a smile, noticing that Yuya Toshi was intrigued.
"Alright, if your hospital is actually built, then I agree to join!" Yuya Toshi nodded, giving himself some hope. "The Uchiha clan has a promising descendant~~"
"It's a deal. I'll be waiting for Mr. Toshi's arrival!" Genya continued to smile at Yuya Toshi. "In the meantime, you can recruit other doctors. If they want to join my new hospital, I'll offer them a salary increase of 1.5 to 2 times based on their skills!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the attending doctor treating Senju Hayashi nearby also became interested.
If Uchiha Genya's hospital truly opens, he would join with his teacher.
So, they continued to enjoy their conversation more and more.
Suddenly, Hayashi's attending doctor spoke up, "Teacher, you're finally here. My patient has a serious injury. Could you check if he can fully recover and if there will be any lasting effects?"
Toshi has treated many battlefield injuries and is an expert in external wounds.
If Senju Hayashi receives treatment from him, there might not be any future complications.
