"Mila! Phone now!" Anna screamed, causing Mila to toss the phone to her. Without hesitation, Anna dialled the number on the message, but it went straight to voicemail, sending a wave of concern through the group.
"Quick Anna! Jeans and T-shirt!" Mila shouted urgently, and both twins sprinted towards the dressing room. In a blink of an eye, they emerged dressed and ready to go, Anna, over her shoulder, instructed Chad and Phoenix, " Stay here and don't come out until we tell you to!" With that, the twins vanished through the door and hurried down the stairs.
Chad and Phoenix exchanged puzzled glances, their faces filled with questions. Phoenix let out a sigh and said, " well okay then," before they turned around and positioned themselves near the window, peering out to witness the commotion unfolding below.
As the twins sprinted out of the building towards the blazing car, they were abruptly confronted by a horde of ten black-clad men, resembling stealthy ninjas. Undeterred, Anna's fiery spirit flared up, and she boldly addressed the mysterious figures.
"Well, hello, all you handsome fellas. What brings you to bless us with your sexy presence?" she taunted, her voice dripping with sarcastic charm.
The silent ninjas remained motionless, arms crossed, their gazes fixed intently upon the twins.
"Okay, what's your problem? Can you please move aside?" Mila impatiently remarked, her irritation evident. "We need to reach that car before it turns into a flaming inferno. And, just to clarify, it's my car."
Still met with an eerie silence, Anna's determination solidified. "Looks like we have to fight our way through, sis," she declared, her voice filled with conviction. "But hey, no killing, Anna. We don't have a cleanup crew here," Mila cautioned.
With a shared understanding, the twins swiftly, transitioned into a defensive stance, their instincts honed for combat.
Minutes flew by as the twins skilfully dispatched their adversarial forces, their synchronized movements displaying impeccable coordination. However, their triumph was short-lived, as a fresh wave of ninjas emerged from the shadows, multiplying their opposition. The relentless onslaught seemed unending.
Meanwhile, Chad and Phoenix, positions on the top floor, monitored the twins progress. "Should we go help them?" Phoenix inquired, concern etched on his face.
"No," Chad responded, a flicker of confidence in his eyes. "They seem to have the situation under control. Besides, our enemies believe we are defenceless. If those ninjas catch a glimpse of you, they'll retreat immediately. We can't let that happen, so let's keep it that way."
I don't think we can keep this up Mila something needs to happen.
"I know Anna, but we have to otherwise they will kill us" Mila said wile kick one of the men down.
Behind you Mila!!!! Anna shout and Mila took her gun out and swing around just to see that her opponent is pointing a gun already at her and they are standing dangerously close to each other.
What, no kiss Cupcake?
Tristan??? Mila whisper and she felt the life leaving her body.
Anna's eyes narrowed suspiciously, "I must be losing it," said shaking her head and look again. "Tristan! what the actual fuck! you're supposed to be dead bro."
"I knew it, I knew you were still alive" Mila said still holding the gun to his face.
Come on Cupcake tell me you've missed me Tristan smirked, and how is my sister-in-law? Tristan turned his head and glanced at Anna but didn't lower his gun.
I'm not your sister-in-law your low life peace of.... wait? If you're not dead this means I can kill you myself!!! Oh, that will bring me such joy Anna grinned adrenaline pumping and walked towards Tristan taking a gun from one of the men lying on the ground.
Not so fast princess, Tristan lifts his other hand and point a second gun towards Anna, I'm not here to fight I'm here to help.
Mila and Anna exchange a wary glance, their nerves on the edge. Anna's irritation seeped through her words, her voice laced with defiance and anger. "What do you mean you are here to help? and I'm not your princess, asshole," she spat.
Tristan's voice was calm yet tinged with urgency. "If both of you would just calm down, I will explain. But it's a bit difficult with two guns pointing towards me, and who are those two wankers looking at us from that top window?"
"It's none of your business, Tristan. You're the one that blew up my car and you've been following me around. So, tell me, why should I calm down and even try to trust you?" Mila fired back, her irritation evident in each word.
Tristan sighed, frustration mingling with his attempt at explanation. "I had my reasons. But I promise you, I am not your enemy. I've been trying to protect you."
"Yeah, well, blowing up my sister's car doesn't exactly scream 'protector'," Anna chimed in.
"Oh, would you just butt out Anna, you're still as irritating as always and you're dangerously close to get a bullet in that uptight but of yours if you don't shut up." Tristan said with frustration.
"I don't think you want to go there" a voice and the sound of footsteps draw their attention. Phoenix and Chad emerged from the building.
Anna's voice quivered with a mix of relief as she rushed into Phoenix's arms. "Baby!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with a sense of both vulnerability and trust. "This man is bad. He wants to put a bullet in my uptight ass."
Phoenix's protective instincts flared as he envelope Anna in a fierce embrace. "I heard, baby girl," he reassured her. But he'll lose his life if he even tries to harm a hair on your body."
Tristan's eyes narrowed as he saw Phoenix's face illuminated by the light. Recognition flickered across his features, and the ninjas, who had been lurking in the shadows, quickly dispersed.
"For heaven's sake, grow up Anna, with that attitude it's a miracle that you have come as far as you did, you only have half a brain cell in that empty skull of yours." Tristan spat.
"You're one to talk Tristan, you're a dead man walking, so your skull is full of worms," Anna retaliate.
Fed up with everything Mila couldn't bear it any longer and screamed. "Enough! I can't take this anymore I'm going home," she threw her hands up in frustration, without a second thought, she turned on her heel and stormed her apartment.
Both Tristan and Chad jumped into action, attempting to save the situation, but she just put up her hands in the air and said "don't" and continue to walk.
"Leave her she needs space and to process everything" Anna said looking at Chad and Tristan but her response was overshadowed by the absence of Tristan who had disappeared without a trace, "where did he go?" she ask again.
Don't know, Chad said and walk towards the building, "I'm going home you guys coming? he asks.
Anna looks at Phoenix, "do you guys live together?"
"We share an apartment yes, but we do not live together," Phoenix laugh loudly.
"Oh... okay," Anna said feeling awkward. "I will then go with you, I think Mila needs some time to herself."
That night Mila couldn't sleep, her mind refused to settle, she turned from one side to the other, it was almost midnight when she heard something in the kitchen, she stood up very quietly and took the knife out from under her pillow. Soundlessly she tiptoes towards the kitchen, her movements carful. She stood behind the wall to listen, the kitchen is open plan so she needs to be sure we're the intruder is before she could come out.
She was caught off guard. A force slammed her back against the wall, stealing her breath. Mila looked up into brown eyes that stared back to her in the dim lighting, the intensity mirroring the longing she had missed.
"I asked you, no kiss..." and in that breathless moment Tristan lips crashed against Mila's.
