Chapter 9

Camille widened her eyes and coughed lightly trying to figure out what he meant by saying that. "You do know you are being so hilarious right now."

"I'm not being hilarious, but I'm sure you misunderstood me which...of course...is expected."

She frowned as she watched him grab a bottle of wine and pour it in his glass cup gulping down all of it at once. Doesn't he ever get tipdy? Her finger ran through her long brown hair.

"You said marriage, not too hard to understand."

He chuckled dangling the cup with his long fingers."I forgot to tell you it will be a contract marriage, after few years we div-"

"I know what a contract marriage is! And why on earth do you think I'll agree to it?"

"We both need each other's help. You mostly need my help." He tipped his glass and slumped on the office chair that squeaked at every move.

She closed her eyes and took deep breaths in and out. "What do you know about me?"

"Everything I'm supposed to know-"

"You-you searched about me without my permission?!"

He sat up and straightened his jaw. "I didn't want to wake you up, Camille. And by the way…it's not that bad to do some research about your future wife. Hmm?" he asked, smiling like he won a game.

She glared at him, bailing her fingers. "And why do you need my help?"

"oh…well, I need my grandma to stop worrying about me and my inability to find a wife for sometime. She seemed happy seeing you." He said.

"Hmm." She rested her palm on her chin. "What do I get in return?"

He shook his head. "I'll provide everything you need and protect you. You can also use me as you want to get back at those you want to. Just act as my wife. Easy-peasy."

A sigh escaped her lips "I'll think about it, Sean."

He frowned immediately. "No, i need an answer now." He folded his arm with a smirk drawn on his lips.

She pinched her forehead in annoyance. What is wrong with this man?! How did I get myself into this in the first place? Wish I never got myself drunk last night.

She frowned as she caught him emptying another glass of red wine in one gulp. She couldn't say no, she needed to save her father's company, she couldn't say yes because she didn't want to seem desperate.

She closed her eyes and sighed. "Alright. I'll do it."

He snorted. "Took longer than I expected." He said noticing how rough her hair looked in the morning. Even without makeup, her beauty was still very attractive.

He blinked his eyes and shook his head trying to remove Camille from his thoughts. "I'll see you downstairs for breakfast, grandma will be waiting for you. You should hurry up." He turned his back and left the room.

A sigh of relief escaped her lips. She couldn't believe she agreed to something like this . She placed her right palm on her heart to slow it down.

"Everything will be fine, don't worry, it's just a contract marriage, everything will be fine," she thought.

Sean smiled inwardly as he remembered how happy his grandma was when she saw Camille.

Her smile was really bright, Sean couldn't help but notice it. He wasn't sure if he had done the right thing by getting married to Camille. But he was sure a little piece of joy and peace will be in the house.

The way Camille expressed her face when she heard she was getting married to him made him smile secretly. He wondered if he had ever smiled so brightly as he did after seeing Camille get annoyed over his joke.

The phone in his pocket beeped and he brought it out to see a message notification pop out. His eyebrows furrowed as he read the message beneath the picture.

"Sean? Are you fine? You seem lost in thoughts." Grandma placed her palm on his shoulder, reading his face with care.
