"Why is my door open, and what are you doing here?" Penelope said as she searched the old woman's face for lies while looking at her with disgust.
"I came to collect your dirty laundry, young madam. You told me to do that earlier today," Pasha said with a small smile, beating her nervousness.
"So why are you standing outside if you came here to collect my laundry?"
"Young madam, you question me like I am a thief. Of course, I just got here and opened the door. I was about to enter when I sighted you, and you know your mother had punished me severely for not greeting you. I don't want to get punished again, so of course I had to stop and pay my respects," Pasha said with a sigh, although her heart roared loudly in her chest, wondering if she bought her lie. But it was extremely good, she thought; she surely had to give herself an award for telling a lie so well.
