Chapter 3 - For a new beginning

When Peter emerged from the two-dimensional space rift created by Cassandra, he found himself in a dark void with another rift in front of him.

"Where am I?" he asked, not addressing anyone in particular, and without expecting a reply. However, Karen decided to answer his question.

"You are currently inside the space between your reality and the DC reality."

Peter couldn't help but admire the situation. "I thought that once I exited the dimensional rift Cassandra made, I'd find myself in the other reality."

"A common misconception. That would only happen if you were traveling within the same reality and between dimensions."

Peter muttered something unintelligible before growing confused. "Wait a minute, Karen, how do you know this?"

"Simple, dear. Cassandra uploaded a set of new information about reality and some other things to ensure I can assist you."

"Well, that answers my questions." Peter felt grateful to Cassandra for thinking about his well-being.

Peter looked at the rift in front of him. "So this is my way to the other reality?"

"Yes, but before entering, maybe you should consider changing your suit. It wouldn't be ideal to start fresh with a torn suit."

Looking at his suit, Peter couldn't help but agree with Karen's suggestion.

His suit was almost completely torn with many scratches. He mentally thanked that his previous injuries weren't too severe, as his healing factor had already taken care of them.

Peter thought for a moment. "Alright, Karen, do you still have all the nano-suit models stored inside you, and how many are left?"

"Yes, dear, the nano-suits are still stored. There are five models remaining."

Peter was already considering which suit he wanted to use. "Alright, Karen, I want model 7.3.4 Miles, and please change the last name to Pete."

"Name change applied, initializing suit."

A swarm of nano-components began forming over Peter's body, destroying his old suit in the process, until the new suit fully materialized on him.

The suit was all black with a red spider logo, red web-like lines, The black mask is striped with red like the net also with white balloon lenses surrounded by red.

The transformation was impressive. Unfortunately, the reality he was about to travel to wasn't his own. He still remembered from his new memories some villains from that reality, where the colors blue and red had become quite common.

Peter looked at the new suit and frowned. He had originally made this nano-suit for Miles before the universe was reset. It was supposed to be a surprise birthday gift that he never got to give him.

Peter felt relieved he didn't give it to him back then, considering the boy had already shown his true colors and become Stark's apprentice, now calling himself the "real Spider-Man."

Peter sighed and decided to let go of his disappointment. It wasn't as if Miles was the only one; he had a few other students, but they too had chosen to follow the crowd and not believe him.

It would be a lie to say Peter could easily move past it. He had told them Otto took control of his body, but no one believed him, as if it was impossible. They acted as though body possession was a ridiculous concept, despite living in a world constantly facing alien invasions, deadly magical beings, clones, cosmic entities threatening to destroy or control the Earth, mind control, and all sorts of nonsense.

How impossible was it for one of the smartest minds on the planet to take over the body of a wall-crawling kid from Queens?

Peter took a deep breath to calm the dark memories. "Since this is a new beginning, it's best for me to forget the past, though experiences do shape the man."

With those words, Peter walked forward, picking up speed until he leaped into the rift in front of him. "For a new beginning."

**Inside the Web**

Cassandra watched Peter, observing to ensure his journey went smoothly. When she saw the wall-crawler pass through the dimensional rift, she smiled-a genuine smile, something she hadn't done in a long time. She knew that even during her time as Madame Web, Peter's life had been terribly harsh.

That wasn't due to any failure on her part as Madame Web, but because she had always warned Peter in cryptic ways. It wasn't that she didn't want to show him the dangers threatening his life outright, but instead of giving vague warnings of peril, she wished she could reveal the threats more clearly.

Sadly, she couldn't do that to preserve the timeline's flow, as long as the event didn't endanger the Web's core. So, she only gave him cryptic warnings with minimal explanations to keep him cautious.

Cassandra placed her hand on her cheek, adjusting her posture on the chair as she frowned, deep in thought, feeling a profound sense of guilt regarding the Web's core.

She slowly raised her gaze toward the threads converging within the Web's center, focusing her eyes on Earth-616.

Gradually, she could see the thread connecting Earth-616 becoming thinner and thinner with each passing moment, and as it thinned, her gaze intensified.

Suddenly, the thread connecting Earth-616 to the rest of the Web snapped.

Earth-616 began drifting into the void behind the Web, but before it disappeared entirely, Cassandra pulled it back toward her, halting the small orb representing Earth-616.

She already knew what had caused Earth-616 to lose its connection to the Web. Normally, if Peter traveled to another world, this wouldn't happen at all, as he always considered Earth-616 his home.

But before he jumped into the rift, representing the gateway to the other reality, he had admitted to himself that this Earth was no longer his home.

Usually, this wouldn't sever the connection, but it would mean Earth-616 would no longer be the main Earth. However, the Web responded to Peter's feelings, as he was the reincarnation of Anansi, the Web's creator.

Since Peter admitted that Earth-616 no longer felt like home, coupled with the ugly life he had lived and all the memories of the lives he had experienced before the multiverse was reset, this made him hate Earth-616, even if he didn't consciously acknowledge it.

But the Web interpreted this as a sign that Earth-616 no longer deserved to be part of the Web.

If Cassandra had one thing to admit, it was that she didn't want to save Earth-616. However, she knew that if Peter ever found out that countless lives were lost because of him, he wouldn't be able to bear it. That was her sole reason for saving Earth-616 from drifting into the void, which would eventually cause it to disappear entirely.

She enveloped the small orb representing Earth-616 with her totemic power. She didn't want to do anything with it, so she simply preserved it.

She didn't want Peter to unknowingly destroy this Earth. The decision should be made when he was fully aware of the consequences.

Cassandra raised the small orb and reconnected it to the Web with her power, even though she wished nothing more than for this Earth to vanish from existence.

Afterward, she focused her power on the next problem. There was someone who needed to learn the consequences of their actions.

Cassandra snapped her fingers, and a figure began to appear before her in a bright light. "Hello, Julia."
