Chapter 4 - mana core

As we sat there my mother got up and said she would go to the market to get supplies for dinner, and my father said he would also go with her to the market.

"We won't be long Adler, just keep reading your books, and we will be back before you know it."

After they left I got up from the couch and sat in a crossed-legged position on the floor. In the chapter about mana cores, the book said that the best way to form one was to sit in a crossed-legged position, clear your mind, and be peaceful.

If you were to be interrupted while trying to form your mana core, it could be deadly on *how far you along in the process you are, if you just started and were interrupted the mana in your body would just disperse and go back to its natural cycle, but if your mana core was unstable and you were interrupted, it could just fizzle out, or implode on itself.

I was not worried about being interrupted, because the market was a 15-minute walk away, so I would have at least 45 minutes to form it, and forming a mana core only usually took 20-30 minutes.

'phew'

I took a deep breath and exhaled. As my mind began to clear I tried to guide the mana I had started absorbing into my solar plexus, the book described the action to be tedious, because guiding all the mana in your body without a catalyst was difficult, and the mana resisted if you were to light with the guidance or too rough with it.

But I didn't seem to have a problem with it, instead, the mana seemed to not have any resistance and would follow my every command. I was quite confused because of this and nearly lost my concentration.

As time passed I gathered all the mana in the general area, once I was ready I began to compact it more and more until it started to look like a translucent ball of glass.

As time passed the ball kept getting smaller and smaller until it was the size of a marble. As it completed a whitish glow emanated from it, and the mana from the atmosphere started being sucked into my core at an alarming speed.

Roxmand - Castle throne room

a man sitting on his throne was lazily stretching out, it could be seen that he was passively absorbing mana into his core, he looked quite young, and had a chiseled face. He had golden blond hair that was well-kempt and he exuded an aura of royalty and power.

He suddenly looked up after noticing something strange and got up from his throne. The thing he noticed was a whirlpool of mana forming over a house not far away.

Most people would not be able to notice the event that was happening, but as one got stronger, their sense of danger, and opportunity would grow with them. If one was strong enough one would be able to sense if something was dangerous or fortuitous for them.

But almost as soon as the man stood to check out what was happening

"stop, ignore it"

An otherworldly feminine voice came from seemingly out of nowhere, but the man knew where from.

"but-"

The voice cut him off

"the time is not right for us to take action"

The man knew that the woman who was talking would not do anything to harm him on his journey. That woman had been with him since he founded this kingdom, and has always led him on a path of fortune and opportunities.

The man known as King Ornex, the King of Roxman, knew that the woman was powerful beyond comprehension, but that she was currently injured.

"haa"

the man sighed as he sat back down on his throne, lately he had been bored, and wanted to do some things before the oncoming beast hoard arrived. He knew that there was a chance even he the most powerful person in the kingdom could still die.

Most powerful might be wrong when he thought of the woman, but he could still lose his life, and although he was a few hundred years old, he still didn't want to die.

Adler Pov

as my core stopped absorbing mana I realized that it had already gone up a stage.

But currently, I was at the solid green stage, so I skipped the first stage which was unprecedented, and the book never mentioned this ever happening before.

Although this was abnormal, I was not going to complain about getting even further ahead of people my age.

I knew I wanted to be a dual mage, so I decided I would start working on strengthening my muscles later. Around 10 minutes later my parents got back. My mother did not notice anything, but my father had a subtle frown on his face.

"did something happen while we were gone?"

He asked me, and I shook my head. and replied

"no, I only read my book"

Acting unaware of what I had done

He looked around the room one last time before sighing and helping my mother prepare dinner. After we ate, it was time for me to go to sleep and once I played down I immediately fell asleep. The fatigue of making a mana core only showed up after I lay down.

Adlers dream

It was like any other day, I woke up ate breakfast, then went to work. After I got off I decided I would take my dog on a walk and visit the park to chill out.

But on my way to the park, something happened, I was suddenly struck by something, maybe a rock? A bullet? I could not remember. But I could recall what happened after that.

I suddenly found myself floating in a void, this void was different from the one when I was first transported here, it was just a plain boring white color everywher..

As I s.rted to focus on the void again I suddenly woke up.
