Chapter 7 - Farewell in the Darkness

Night fell over the city, and the silence was only pierced by the quiet sounds of the soldiers and the occasional calls of the guards. The battle against the Titans had been a hard-fought but temporary victory, and I felt exhausted yet fulfilled. *I fought and helped. I've become part of something greater.*

Yet deep within me lingered the feeling that this peace would not last. *The Titans will return. It's only a matter of time.*

In the following days, we spent our time training and preparing for the next fight. I was determined to keep learning and growing stronger, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something dark was lurking on the horizon.

One afternoon, we received reports of a large group of Titans moving toward the city. The tension was palpable, and I felt the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. *This is it. The moment we have been waiting for.*

"We must be ready!" the leader shouted as we gathered in headquarters. "These Titans are stronger and more numerous than the last ones. We must work together to fend them off."

I looked into the faces of my comrades and felt the nervousness pulsating in the air. *What if I fail?* But I knew I couldn't back down. *I'm here to fight.*

Night fell, and we prepared for the impending battle. The Titans drew closer, and I heard the sound of their heavy footsteps shaking the ground. *It's now or never.*

As we faced the battle, I felt the adrenaline coursing through my veins. Together, we charged at the Titans, and I felt alive as I swung the blades of my weapon. *This is my fight. I will not give up.*

But the Titans were numerous and strong. They came in waves, and I fought with all my strength to fend off their attacks. The screams of my comrades and the sounds of battle filled the air, and I felt the fear spreading within me.

"Kael, watch out!" Mikasa shouted as a Titan charged directly at me. I turned quickly, but it was too late. The Titan grabbed me with its massive hands and lifted me into the air. *This is the end!*

"NO!" I screamed as I desperately tried to free myself. But the Titan was too strong, and I felt the air leaving my lungs. *I can't give up!*

In that moment of despair, I felt the coldness of death slowly enveloping me. *I don't want to die. Not here, not now.* I thought of all the people I wanted to protect, my comrades, and the world I originally came from.

"I can't leave like this!" I cried as I tried to gather my thoughts. *I haven't done everything I wanted to do. I can't just give up!*

But the Titan continued to squeeze, and I felt my body yielding. The darkness seemed to wrap around me, and I knew I was about to die. *This is not the right time!*

Suddenly, I felt a strange pulling within me, as if an invisible force was reaching for me. "What... what is this?" I murmured as I struggled to keep upright.

In that critical moment, as the darkness around me grew and I felt myself losing control, I sensed reality beginning to blur. *Where am I?*

"Kael!" a voice called from afar, and I recognized the leader's voice. "Hold on!"

But it was too late. With one last desperate scream, I was swallowed by the darkness, and I felt myself being pulled into the void. *I can't die!*

And then, in an instant, I found myself in a new environment. I lay on a cold, hard ground, surrounded by an atmosphere I didn't recognize. The light was dim, and shadows danced around me.

I stood up and looked around. *Where am I now?* The memories of the battle, the Titans, and my comrades seemed distant as I tried to gather my thoughts. *What happened here?*

"Welcome to the next world, Kael," I heard a soft voice say, emerging from the shadows. "You are no longer there. You are in a new reality."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. *A new reality?* I had not only lost my life in the other world but also my friends and the fight I so desperately wanted.

"Why am I here?" I asked, trying to comprehend the reality. "What happened to my friends?"

"That's no longer important," the voice replied. "You made your choice, and now you must face the challenges of this new world."

The darkness around me was suffocating, and I felt sadness rising within me. *I didn't want to just run away. I wanted to fight!*

But in that moment, I knew I had to move on. *I can't give up. I need to find out what's going on here and how I can return.*

With a deep breath and a determined look, I stared into the darkness ahead of me. *I will find a way to get back. I won't give up, no matter how many times I'm thrown into a new reality.*

And with that determination, I set off to discover what this new world had in store for me.
