Chapter 10 - The Path of Determination

The arena of the ruins pulsed with energy, and I felt the adrenaline coursing through my veins after the last fight. The victory was not only proof of my abilities but also a step in the right direction. *I can do this. I can become stronger.*

Rylan approached me, his face beaming with pride. "You've made impressive progress, Kael. The victory is an important step, but there is still much to learn. You must continue to work on your skills."

"I won't give up," I replied determinedly. "I want to learn everything I can to return to the arena and prove my strength."

"That's the spirit you need," Rylan said, leading me to another training area. "Here, you can face different opponents who have various fighting styles. Each fight will help you refine your techniques and improve your strategies."

We entered a large room equipped with various training devices and practice dummies. "Here, you can intensify your sword training and sharpen your reflexes," Rylan explained. "Get ready, because you'll be facing some of the best fighters in the ruins."

I nodded and immediately began training. I practiced different techniques and movements, trying to build my endurance. *I can't allow myself to be weak. I must become stronger.*

Hours passed as I focused on my training. I tried not to let the pain and exhaustion distract me. Every strike I landed and every technique I perfected brought me closer to the goal I was pursuing.

After training, I sat on a bench and took a deep breath. *That was tough, but I feel stronger.* Rylan came over and sat next to me. "How do you feel?"

"I feel good, but I know I still have a lot to learn," I admitted. "I can't stop until I'm strong enough to protect my friends."

"That's the right approach," Rylan said. "It's important that you keep that fighting spirit within you. In this arena, there are many fighters ready to challenge you. Each of them has their own story and reasons for being here."

"I understand," I replied thoughtfully. "I will do my best to face each challenge."

The next day, I was ready for the next round of fights. The arena was filled with fighters waiting for their chance. I felt the excitement in the air as I joined the queue. *Each of us has the same goal: to become stronger.*

When it was my turn, I stepped into the arena and faced my opponent. This time, it was an agile fighter with an impressive sword and quick movements. *This will be interesting.*

"Ready?" the referee called, and I nodded.

"Go!" he shouted, and the fight began. My opponent charged at me, and I dodged to avoid her first attack. She was fast and nimble, and I had to work hard to keep up.

I tried to read her movements and develop a strategy. *I must not become impatient. I need to wait for a mistake!*

The fight dragged on, and I felt exhaustion rising within me. But I wouldn't let it discourage me. *I can do this. I have trained to be here!*

Suddenly, she made a quick attack, and I managed to dodge at the last moment. "You're faster than I thought!" I shouted as I tried to regain my composure.

"That's just the beginning!" she replied with a challenging smile. "Show me what you can do!"

I focused and employed all the techniques I had learned in the past few days. I lunged forward, trying to land a hit. But she skillfully dodged and countered with a quick strike that sent me to the ground.

*Damn mistake!*

I got back up and saw her coming toward me. *I can't give up! I haven't given everything yet!*

With renewed determination, I jumped into the air and attempted to surprise her with an attack. The fight swayed back and forth, and I could feel the spectators leaning toward the edges of the arena as they watched us.

"Come on, Kael!" Rylan shouted from the crowd. "Show them what you've got!"

His call gave me the final push I needed. I gathered all my energy and charged at my opponent. With a powerful strike, I managed to land a hit, and I felt pride swell within me. *I did it!*

The fight continued, and I felt the exhaustion, but also the fire within me. *I can't give up. I will fight until my last breath!*

When I finally landed the decisive blow and defeated my opponent, the cheers of the audience erupted. I felt invincible. *This is my path!*

After the fight, Rylan approached me and patted me on the shoulder. "Well done, Kael! You've really improved. You've shown the strength and courage that lie within you."

"Thank you, Rylan," I replied as I tried to steady my breathing. "I will keep fighting until I'm strong enough to return and protect my friends."

"That's the right mindset," he said. "Remember, every fight brings you further. You're on the right path."

The next few days were spent continuing to train and facing various fighters. Each victory gave me newfound confidence, and I felt myself growing stronger and more skilled. But deep down, I knew I was still not at my destination. *I must keep fighting.*

One day, as I prepared for another fight, I felt a strange pulling within me. *That's the feeling I know.*

"Rylan, do you feel that too?" I asked, looking at him.

"Yes, I sense it," he replied thoughtfully. "It means something is changing. Perhaps it's a sign that you're ready for the next step."

"The next step? What does that mean?" I asked curiously.

"It could mean that you need to face a greater challenge to truly prove your strengths," Rylan explained. "It may also mean that you're ready to move on to the next reality."

*The next reality?* The thought of leaving the arena to face new challenges filled me with both nervousness and excitement. *I am ready. I want to go back!*

In that moment, I knew I had to confront my destiny. I wanted to fight not just to grow stronger, but to discover what it meant to be a fighter. *I will not give up!*

"I'm ready for the next challenge," I declared determinedly. "No matter what it takes, I will fight to return."

Rylan nodded and smiled. "That's the spirit you need. Let's see where this path will lead us."

And as I prepared for the next challenge, I felt that I was fighting not just for myself, but also for the friends I had to leave behind. *I will protect them, no matter what reality I'm in.*
