Did I really just commanded them so easily and with no disobedience on their part?
As I stared at the floating screens right in front of me, I couldn't help but wonder what exactly happened just a while ago....
Did I really just do that?
Did I really just ordered those terrorist to kill each other?
With such gladness in their faces when upon hearing those words of command....
And me?
The one who can't even beat Galkin physically ever since from the moment I got transmigrated here, yet somehow I beated him...
Is the world playing tricks with me right now, is that it?
But it stands for a fact, that can't be the case... After all, everything really just happened that even my favorite heroine also saw me doing it....
"U–um.... my lord, why are you staring blankly in the air? Do you want me to do another scan just is case?"
"Ah no, I'm fine."
"Are you sure, my lord? The scanner says nothing is wrong with you... but we can't really be sure about mentally–wise, we have some experts nearby waiting for your command."
"No really, I'm fine. If the scanner says that I'm alright, then I'm really alright. Besides, I'm really the one who needs medical attention right now so, could you assist the needy."
"As you wish, your Lordship."
As the medical examiner meticulously examined my body for any signs of injury or trauma one more time before she politely bow then left me alone in a comfortable bed.
As the moment of silence brought me sense of peace, I couldn't shake off the sense of confusion that was clouded my mind.
The events that had unfolded just moments ago, left me feeling as I grappling with more questions that seemed to have no easy answers.
The Holy Land had swiftly dispatched the elite border guards to assist in the aftermath of the incident, but their arrival was already too late to prevent the main events as it had reached their determined conclusion.
Despite sending my favorite heroine quite early towards the protagonist's ship, it had reached in the same conclusion but, with some minor anomalies had been added.
[ Unique Skill: Dominion's Order ] [ Locked ]
This skill....
Who is the mother of corruption? How did I get this all of the sudden?
In the game, also mentioned that in this world, many gods and goddesses were worshipped by various races, sects and nation but, mother of corruption isn't one of them.
Based from what Galkin's affection towards her would suggested that probably New Wind Society was also worshipped the mother of corruption. Which were different from how it was depicted in the game.
From what I can remember, the system kept popping out here and there when I on the verge of death clinging onto my neck, then suddenly a unknown entity was standing before me... as she told me about a contract or something.
It was vague to remember but I somehow felt that I agreed on something and I prayed on her name...
(Were there something that I need to fulfill?)
I didn't have any recollection mentioned of what I need to fulfill...
Then this skill....
Despite a newly acquired unique skill that was being locked right now, I can somehow see some quite drastic shifts in the environment surrounding me.
Like for example,
If I put my concetration hard enough that I can actually see some colors as it were changing their patterns like it was a rainbow disco ball and it seemed that I'm the only seeing this colors patterns.
The pattern's however were dominated by one shade of red and white: a pink color.
These patterns were spread all throughout the room, probably the whole ship maybe as I hadn't left my room yet.
Then, the word of command.
I don't know the specifics of this unique skill as didn't have this skill in the game.
The conditions in utilizing this skill can be quite complicated. I need further experiments to understand the limits of this skill.
From what I remember of what happened to those terrorist is that it can override the subject's mind as it manipulate through a command.
Also, it can influence the common sense of reality, bending everything to suits your will.
Overall, this skill has lot of unlimited potential with some flexibility....
(If it was going to bestow it to me this skill, then why have to be locked it?)
Tsk...!
The number of chances for me using this skill is quite limited and it is likely that I could be exposed myself from prying eyes.
With there were so many questions with so few answers, I need to wait for new opportunities.
"Then I'll be going now, Doc."
"Ah wait my lord, at least take this with you."
"Thank you..."
Accepting the small bottle of healing potion from the medical examiner, I couldn't help but noticed a peculiar mark on her neck.
Bow once more as she moved on to attend to the next person in need, I glanced around the medical ward as I take notes of the other injured students that were scattered throughout the ward.
As expected....
It seems that color patterns were also spreading all throughout the ward not just my room exclusively, also they were plenty of others who were clearly have the same peculiar mark on their necks, so is this effects were related to my unique skill?
It seemed strange, it almost as if there was something specific about my skill that had drawn to somehow...
...
Today's events had shed some light on a few important questions....
Firstly, It appears that there is a certain of influence that I can manipulate over the main scenarios.
As long as I adhere to my predetermined fate and avoid in altering any manner that is significant, I can to have a certain degree of flexibility to act as I see fit.
The first indicator would be around four months ago when I neglected my mission to care Aria in favor of saving Alicia's deathly fate.
This came with the system intervened, punished me and issuing a stern warning. However, during today's events, when I used Alicia to intervene with the main scenario, there were no repercussions and only to resolved a plothole that comes with it.
Of course, this degree of interference didn't significantly altered my impending death of doom.
Furthermore, the incident involving terrorist from New Wind Society had provided further evidence of this phenomenon.
Instead of punishing me for deviating the main scenario of the game, the system bestowed upon me a seemingly random yet not entirely random mission.
This concludes that the system is not solely concerned with enforcing predetermined outcomes but may act in ways that facilitates the fulfilment of the missing plot and my destiny.
In the end, it seems that as long as I stick to my predetermined path towards my deathflag, I am granted a certain freedom to manipulate the intricacies of this world's events.
Siegfried..... Dominion's Order.... and Mother of Corruption.... Is it the manifestation of my fate, or merely the twist of coincidence?
Perhaps it's a reflection of my true nature, or maybe it's just what Corrin was supposed to be destined in possess all of it. The answers eluded me, still shrouded in mysteries of this strange reality.
Ironically, I'm now found myself in possession of the same kind of skill as my beloved fiancée.
As the mission to entered the academy had finally concluded and beginning of a new one as the familiar notification flashed before me...
[ Mission: Attend the Academy ]
[ Mission Accomplished!!! ]
But as I stared at the golden screen, a sense of dissatisfaction welled up within me. Is that all? I couldn't help but voiced out my frustration aloud.
( Could you at least reward me or something, you dogshit system...!!!)
Ding....! Ding....!
"???"
In my surprise as the screen flickered once more and displayed a unexpected message.
[ Level: 20 - 3 ]
Wtf....!!!
Don't tell me this system is actually a sentient!
Wait a minute, did it just cut down my levels?
[ Yes. ]
What?!?!
What do you mean by "Yes"?
Was this system capable of understanding my thoughts and responding to them.
I felt sudden chill down to my spine as I pondered the such realization would inflicated to my future.
[ Level: 17 - 7 ]
"Hey, give me back my LEVEL!!!!!"
Everyone's thoughts on the medical ward on that day, was that I gone crazy....
.....
Three days had passed since tumultuous incident of the first main event of the chapter 1.
As the day of entrance ceremony was very near to closure, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.
It took a long time for the holy land to reopen it's doors and during these long period, we had been stucked in the confines of the dormitories as they prohibit us to leave due investigation of the incident.
Within the confinements of our dormitories, I had noticed that the pink pattern weren't far deep of the spreading as it was halted on the floating ship. And my friends including my master, Misha also didn't have peculiar marks on their necks.
For now, it seems that was the dead end of understanding the phenomenon of the unique skill's effects
After the investigation ended, they finally allow us to leaved our confinements.
I guess by now, everybody had finally recovered after what happened three days ago....
Despite how thorough during investigation into the perpetrators of the attack, the answers remained elusived.
According to my friend, Rein whose had a close relative working on the investigation for the holy land that the mastermind behind the incident had managed to escape and only leave a trail of chaos and destruction.
Most of the other terrorist had either perished or taken their own lives in the process.
However, this wasn't the most of it as there were a few unexpected events that was presented thanks to my interference came to bite me....
Normally, I want my path to be mundane as possible....
"Whhaaaattt!!!"
"Yes. I told my brother everything of what just happened on our side during the incident..." Rein exclaimed.
Long story short, Rein's brother and his colleagues found themselves utterly shocked during the investigation that among the thirteen floating ships were taken significant damage and many students and crews were severely hurt in the process, thanks to the terrorist's self-destruct.
Only our's ship weren't taken any collateral damage in fact it was unscathed. They quickly investigated about it for which he discovered that his little brother was among those students aboard that ship.
As his brother asked Rein for his side of the story, Rein simply tell them from the very beginning.
After telling the story, Rein's brother and his colleagues were so impressed about my certain knowledge in mana array bombs including our heroic tale in protecting the floating ship that they immediately issued a letter of recommendation for our promotion to the Ambrosian Officials.
Me? A promotion? Are you shitting me!!!
There's goes my mundane path went up in smokes as I found myself been stray away to the path I set myself.
How foolish of myself in telling them about the mana bombs. At that time, I just simply wanted to enlighten them of why we have to throw them off the ship...
Not to mention that my interference with the main scenario, hoping to conclude first mission entirely in the first chapter with Borris's death or capture had somehow simply backfired as well...
Despite Alicia's early presence, Borris had managed to escaped.
I couldn't help but speculate whether it was due to the protagonist's personality or perhaps the system's interference, as Borris's time isn't due that day.
However, I lacked valid evidence to support the latter theory.
It was most likely that the protagonist being goody good shoes type personality.
The realization of Borris survival meant my own path diverged from the main scenario brought a mixed of emotions.
A part of me, felt relieved from the pressure to adhere in the story's predetermined plotlines.
On other part of me, left me grappling with uncertainty about my own future.
However, dwelling on what could have been served no purpose.
Knowingly, that my main scenario was took a certain turn for the unexpected as found myself in the midst of a spotlight.
As the principal delivered his speech, extolling the virtues of our prestigious academy and the greatness of its graduates, I was found myself struggling to maintain composure.
To be honest with you, I'm not good at speaking in public before transmigration.
Because of our heroic tale being spread all throughout the Holy Land and various kingdoms like wildfire, it's was inevitable.
They decide for me to speak on behalf of my peers as the freshman's representative on top of my promotion at the same time.
So what rank am I?
Normally, with this achievement it was supposed that Me, Rein and Daike to be knighted however they went about granted me the rank of baron due being the one leading, Rein and Daike were already been knighted much earlier, how envy of them.
While those students outside were listened attentively, perhaps inspired by the prospect of joining the ranks of esteemed alumni, In the backstage, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous.
Having played through the game countless times, I was all too familiar with the principal's announcements.
His words often held clues to hidden quest and the locations of the secret items.
There seemed little point in listening when I knew everything he would say, along with the secrets they held.
Yet, with each repetition of his words, my impending end of my mundane life were drawing closer.
Clap....! Clap....! Clap.....!
So as the appluase filled the auditorium, I couldn't help but frozed on the spot.
"Cheer up, my rival."
"You're supposed to act like a noble."
"It's not like I have much choice, you know!!!."
Especially, knowing that your parents were also attending to this ceremony as of this very moment, waiting to see their son take a first step for greatness.
With the ceremony concluded, my focus was shifted to my impending promotion and speech. As the principal descended from the podium, another staff member took the stage to make the announcement.
But after this will be....
[ Mission: Attend the Class ]
[ Sub: Evaluation Exam ]
As the staff member called my name, left the backstage as I slowly approached the main stage.
Then I see all the students from different nations in the game, both royalty and higher nobility.
Ambrosia, Marqueley, Havonia, Ordinale, Gloryfield, Silverblade, Hoshida, Flan, Fantasia, Shuravon and much more than I can see.
"I, Corrin Ashfallen, freshman representative...."
Somehow reaching to my goal was more difficult than I expected...
