Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Cycle of Life and Death

Snowy died in his previous world, only to be reincarnated into a new one—again. But fate had a twisted sense of humor. His new life was cut short just moments after it began.

This time, he was reborn as a bird. Barely hatched, Snowy found himself on the edge of his nest, high up in a tree. His mother was nowhere in sight. As he struggled to break free from his eggshell, he wobbled, lost his balance, and plummeted to the ground below. His tiny bird life ended before it even began.

Reincarnation in progress…

Snowy's soul drifted once more, this time returning as an ant. But luck was not on his side. His nest was under attack by a rival ant colony, and his short-lived existence ended in a massacre. The attackers showed no mercy, wiping out every last ant in the nest, including Snowy.

Reincarnation in progress…

Snowy's soul continued its relentless cycle. Hours passed, deaths followed, and he was reborn yet again—this time, as a mosquito. His immediate reaction? Pure disgust. He hated mosquitoes, and in a moment of despair and irony, he flew straight into a window, ending his life once more.

Reincarnation in progress…

It felt like he was being spawn-killed over and over. Despite the frustration, Snowy was starting to get used to the pattern, understanding how his reincarnation worked. Each death brought him back, and each life was a new, albeit short-lived, experience. He began to hate it, but a part of him also relished the unpredictability.

But this time, things were different. When he opened his eyes again, he was born not as a fragile creature but as a wolf pup. He felt warmth and safety for the first time in what felt like an eternity. His mother, a large, protective wolf, gently licked his head, cleaning him with love and care.

Snowy looked around, realizing he was finally safe from immediate danger. He had a family now, a loving mother who watched over him. Life as a wolf was tough, but at least he wasn't alone. He quickly learned to walk, run, and hunt, though he often stumbled, his clumsiness reminding him of his past human self.

Over time, Snowy grew stronger, and so did his bond with his wolf mother. She was always there to protect him, even when he was reckless and hurt himself. For the first time in his reincarnation cycle, Snowy found some semblance of happiness, and his life as a wolf continued for two years. But as he grew, his mother aged. She was slowing down, her once strong body now frail.

Snowy loved her deeply, despite his human mindset. He hunted for her, doing his best to provide, but as the days passed, her health continued to decline. One fateful day, while on a hunt, Snowy encountered something that would change everything—a bear, towering over him, ten times the size of any bear he'd ever seen in his human life. It was a monstrous beast, far more dangerous than he could handle.

Fear gripped him as he tried to flee, but the bear was fast. Snowy dodged, juked, and did everything he could to avoid its crushing blows. But he knew he couldn't keep this up forever; his stamina would eventually run out. Desperation took over, and a plan formed in his mind. He needed to lure the bear to a cliff's edge, using the terrain to his advantage.

With the bear hot on his heels, Snowy ran towards the mountain cliff. The bear's massive paws thudded against the ground, its snarls echoing in Snowy's ears. Just as he reached the cliff, the bear's swipe caught his leg, sending him sprawling. Pain shot through him, but he couldn't stop now. He had to protect his mother. He had to end this.

Ignoring the searing pain, Snowy pushed forward, his mind focused on one thing—survival. He glanced back at the bear, its rage-filled eyes locked onto him. Snowy reached the cliff and stopped abruptly, staring the beast down. The bear charged, and Snowy waited, his heart pounding.

The moment the bear lunged, Snowy sidestepped, just as planned. But he hadn't accounted for the bear's sheer size and momentum. The cliff crumbled under the bear's weight, dragging both the beast and Snowy down with it. In his final moments, Snowy realized his miscalculation. His plan had failed, and now he was falling—just like in his previous human life, when the psycho had ended it all.

As he tumbled through the air, his thoughts were of his mother. He had promised to protect her, to return to her. But now he would never see her again. Snowy's body hit the ground, and darkness swallowed him once more.

Reincarnation in progress…

When he opened his eyes, the world was bright. Snowy struggled to make sense of his surroundings. He felt warm, safe, but confined. He blinked, trying to adjust his eyes. As he looked around, he realized he was no longer an animal. He was in a hospital, in a human body, reborn once again—this time as a newborn baby.

Snowy had been given another chance, but this time, as a human. His journey was far from over, and he would have to face the new world ahead of him.
