Chapter 10 - Used Women Or Not

Ava's POV:

I drove the car while Mike kept yelling at me, Ava, how could you go see him? Ava, have you forgotten about everything you have been through because of him?

Ava, do you plan on repeating the same mistake?

I had enough and just wanted to get home and lock myself in my bedroom.

"Ava answer me, Will you really go see him tonight? Tomorrow is your wedding."

"I know, okay? I know it more than anyone, and I am going to get married tomorrow... But what will I gain if he sues EN because of me?" I asked angrily, and he snorted.

"What if he asks you to spend a night with him? Will you do that?"

"He can't ask me such." I was so sure about that; he might be an irresponsible person and a big jerk, but he wasn't that type of person.

"Just perfect; luckily you are getting married tomorrow and it will set some boundaries," he reminded me of my wedding, and I nodded in a lost tone. Seriously, I was getting married tomorrow.

I don't know why I was feeling so nervous right now; it was just to sign some papers, which wasn't that hard.

*

That evening, I stood before the mirror and stared at my reflection. I was dressed in a simple long blue gown and let my hair fall down my shoulders.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Cynthia asked, but I shook my head in denial. I needed her to stay and take care of the kids. I was going to be fine on my own.

I picked up my purse and turned to her. "I will be back in less than an hour," I told her, and I hurried downstairs.

I was about to get to my car when I found a car parked outside. A lady stepped down and walked towards me.

"Hello Miss Wood, I was asked to bring you to the club by Yan Earlton," she said, then handed me a card. Anyone who lived in this country knew that this expensive and slightly heavy card only belonged to the family members of the Earltons.

"He didn't have to send a driver." I snorted, and the lady smiled at me, "Please come along; I don't wish to lose my job."

I sighed heavily before I got into the car and the lady drove out. I knew they always had male drivers, and this was the first time I was seeing a female driver.

"So, are you one of the drivers from the Earlton's?" I was curious about the lady driving me to the club.

"No, I am Mr. Earlton's personal assistant, secretary, and driver. My name is Keren," she introduced, and I nodded.

Of course his personal assistant was female; did he use that to shade the news about him being gay? Which I knew he wasn't.

Soon we arrived at a very classic club; it wasn't as noisy as I expected.

"He is on the second floor; you will spot him immediately you get there. Show this card to the guards, and they will let you upstairs," Kernen explained as she handed me the card.

I walked down the car, and she drove out. I breathed heavily and found my way inside.

I couldn't even remember the last time I showed up at a club. I was about to go upstairs when someone grabbed my hand from behind.

I turned and found Coyle. "I knew it was you; why are you here?" He asked, and I also wanted to ask him the same; he wasn't the clubbing person.

"I have a meeting; what about you?" I asked, and he pointed at a table that was occupied by some of his friends I already knew, and Manuella the strip dancer was present as well.

"My friends decided to throw me a bachelor party before our wedding tomorrow," he laughed, and I raised a brow, confused.

"Didn't you already have that? And I had no idea you would be having that tonight."

He laughed, and I could see he was a little drunk. "I also had no idea you would be having a meeting here at such an hour; come with me," he said, wrapping his hand around my waist.

"I can't… I need to meet with someone," I explained, but he didn't let go.

"Which man will ask you to meet him at the club? I don't approve of that, so no, you won't meet any person," he said in an authoritative tone like he has always had.

I sighed. I didn't stop him from doing his stuff, so why did he always stop me?

If I didn't meet with Yan, then not only will I lose my job, but a lot of people will once he sues EN. I had to do this for us all.

We approached his table as they all waved at me. "We had no idea you were joining us," his friends said, and I nodded. I also had no idea I was going to burn into them.

"We bumbed into each other," I explained. I didn't want them to have the bad idea that I was paranoid and decided to join Coyle in the club.

"Oh, so what are you doing in a club?" Manuella asked in a suspicious tone.

"I don't think it's any of your business," I threw her my best smile. I wasn't over the scene where she left the hotel with my fiance and she was talking to me?

"Right, Coyle definitely doesn't mind the type of people he hangs out with, whether used women or not," she laughed, and I could see the weird looks on everyone's faces. I expected Coyle to stand up for me, but he just stood there.

"I know what you are trying to do, Manuella; throw shades at me and try to make yourself feel better for being a club stripper. But don't do that; I will advise you against that. I am not as calm as I look," I warned, and she rolled her eyes before she sipped her wine.

"I will say and do what I want."

How did she get so much guts to talk to me?

"Manuella, you should watch your tone." Coyle frowned at her, and I rolled my eyes. Then my gaze moved upstairs as I spotted Yan as he was watching us.

I hope this won't make him so angry that he will want to sue EN, to my surprise... Coyle wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer before he took his glass of wine and shoved it to my lips.

"How about we have some fun tonight before finalizing the deal tomorrow?" He winked, and I chuckled, not now Coyle... I wish I could tell him that.
