Just when she was giving up, the pressure on her body disappeared. She could hear muffled screaming that grew fainter and fainter by the second.
She sensed that someone was shaking her before she felt lighter.
Nothing made sense anymore.
"Wake up... Gwendolyn..."
She passed out despite the constant intangible voices in her head.

She could faintly hear someone calling her name, their voice soft and distant. Gwen knitted her eyebrows as her mind slowly returned to reality.
Her head was pounding, her body felt heavy and sluggish, and her mouth was dry. She tried to open her eyes, but even that seemed difficult.
Gwen blinked her eyes a few times, trying to clear her vision and focus on the voice.
As her vision started to clear, Gwen realized that she was lying on a soft bed. The room was dimly lit, and she could hear the faint sound of people moving about nearby.
