[Area 51]
Area 51 is a United States military base that the common folk believe to be hiding or researching alien technology and government super weapons more powerful than the atomic bomb, and in a way, they are correct.
Within the deepest level of the military base, there was a nice and sterile laboratory, made to look more like a hospital than a laboratory. This lab was lined with rows of human sized tubes, each with disfigured and yet human-like figures floating in the water.
At the centre of the room was a chair, modelled similarly to that of a dentist's chair and on that chair was a young man, who looked to be no older than 18 years old, his hair was blonde and had deep blue eyes.
"Can you perfectly control your entire body?"
The young man lifted his arms, and then morphed, changing its shape and making it in the form of a knife, as he wasn't a normal human, he could afford to have large amounts of iron in his blood, which in turn allowed him to fuse his bones with it before shedding the skin and then shaping the bone into a knife.
"Yes, all clear, doc. No oddities"
He answered to the man in a lab coat, sitting on a chair and typing away at his computer.
"Good, however, how are you feeling? Lethargic or tired , are your energy levels optimal?"
"Yep"
He said, popping the p and jumping off the chair with the energy and vigour that a young man should have. The doctor nodded and smiled.
"Alright good, you can go see the general. He'll tell you what you need to do"
The young man gave the doctor a salute before walking towards the elevator with a pep on his step. Once the kid was gone, the doc closed his laptop and heaved a sigh.
"I do hope this doesn't blow up in our faces, again"
He said to himself as he looked at the tubes, he remembered the last time and he couldn't help but curse the general for his ambition or rather the fact that the US government negotiated their release to continue the project was fucked p.
"oh well."
He shrugged. There was no point in thinking about ethics and morals now. He was deep in it years ago, and now he no longer had the right to question it.
...
Steve Erickson was a proud American citizen who loved his country and was gladly willing to die in service of it. He was a proud American patriot and was not ashamed of that fact.
The man stood at a height of 6 '2, a significant improvement from his normal height of 5' 9 and his height wasn't the only improvement, although he wore a suit, the way it hugged his form made it clear he had been hitting the gym quite frequently.
Of course, it was obvious that he would improve, after all last time things ended In a disaster and considering he nearly lost his job because of it, he needed to be better to prevent it from happening again.
He stood in his office, where he was confined after the incident, and watched the monitor that was mounted on the wall, his gaze frowned as the news reported a rather tragic incident.
The doors to the room slide open, and the general turns away from the monitor that showed news concerning the death of the Guardians of the globe, with only omni-man being the survivor.
"Hello, Phase three, how are you feeling?"
The general asked, his face showing a smile as he saw his perfected, well, nearly perfected product.
"I'm doing fine General, the doc said I should be good to go"
Phase three answered as he gave the general a salute, and the general hummed in response while also resisting to smile.
He was a patriot, willing to serve and protect his country by all means necessary, Phase One and two were the start of something that would have guaranteed the safety of the American citizen.
The world was filled with Superhumans, and too many Americans were at their mercy . While the GDA had its primary base in American soil, it was still an organisation that catered to the world, not America.
So, it only made sense that the US military would find ways to protect itself.
"Phase three, starting today, you will be tasked with a mission!"
Erickson informed the young man, and Phase three quickly straightened his posture and stood straight, eagerly listening.
"As you know, you have been training to master and perfect your abilities for the past year"
Phase three nodded in understanding. His body had been unstable and was at risk of dissolving like ice cream on a hot day. It was due to such a condition that he had to go through regular testing and training even after his body was stable.
"And now I believe you are ready for the field, your target is him"
The general informed as he pressed the remote and the monitor changed from the news to an image of an African American teenager, it was a picture of Kevin during his fight with Rexplode.
"Your mission is to capture him by whatever means necessary and available. It is imperative that you bring him back to base, as long as he is alive, do whatever it takes"
"Yessir"
Phase three gave a salute, and the general nodded before giving the young man extra details about his mission.
The general would have liked it if he could capture Phase One (atom Eve) as well. However, she was under the protection of the GDA, and her capture would require help from phase two(Kevin).
After debriefing, Phase three was sent out on his mission. Of course, they did not have a complete location of Phase Two, but he was in Chicago, so that's where Phase three was sent.
With the General now, once again alone, he turned back to the monitor and looked at the image of Kevin with an intensity.
"Enjoy your momentary freedom Phase Two, you'll be back where you belong soon enough"
