After Annora left, Adeline let out a breath of relief. Her gaze instinctively searched for the female lead, but it was as if Annora had vanished into thin air.
Adeline was drowning in worry, she didn't hear what Cassian was saying.
"Adeline!"
She was brought back to reality when Dimitri called out to her. He looked at her with meaningful eyes, his eyebrows were furrowed. She could see the frustration written all over his face.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't able to hear you." She shook her head.
Cassian's smile remained, his eyes darkened, hinting at the tempest beneath the surface. "I said, would like to dance?"
She looked down to see his extended hand, she made him wait in that position, he must be angry.
He didn't bother waiting for her answer instead, he reached for her hand and held it firmly. He wouldn't allow her to say no, and he certainly wouldn't let any of those flies change her mind.
