Louis wakes up, tied to steel chair. She look's around and notices that she's in what looks like an abandoned warehouse. She's experienced this more times than she can count but this is the first time she's ever thought that the heroes might not be able to make it in time.
Last thing she remembers was Supergirl losing to the Meta Killer before she had to try and stop him. She begins to freak out. 'Kara-'.
'She's not here', immediately says the voice behind her. She turns her head and sees the Meta Killer standing close to the shadows.
'What did you do to her?' she immediately asks.
'I didn't kill her if that's what you're asking. Her other friends should have found her by now'.
'What are you gonna do with me?' she asks next.
'You. Nothing. Them however-'
Suddenly, the warehouse doors open with a loud bang and a group of armed men walks in. Louis looks at the leader and realizes who he is. 'Bruno Manheim!', she gasps. 'You're working for the Intergang', she says, now looking at the Meta Killer.
The mercenary shrugs. 'I work for whoever pays me the most'.
The man then walks in front of The Intergang leader. 'You wanted Louis Lane', he says.
'I wanted her head', replies Bruno.
'You asked for the head and I gave you the whole thing. The way I see it, you owe me a bonus'.
Bruno laughs at that. 'I like you. I like you very much. Fine'. The leader gestures for his men to hand over the money. 'And give him a bit of bonus like he said. He earned it'.
Another man comes from the side and hands Louis' captor a briefcase before throwing two more stacks of cash at his feet.
The Meta Killer picks his payment up and puts it on one side. Bruno walks towards Louis, grabbing her by the face and grinning. 'Miss Louis. It's good to see you again', says the man as he eyes her maliciously. The woman keeps her mouth shut but tears slowly roll down her face.
'Unfortunately, I have another business to attend to', says the Meta Killer.
Bruno turns his attention to him. 'Very well. I'll be sure to call you again when I need something done'.
'No, you won't'. The mercenary slashes his sword and Bruno Manheim's head rolls to the floor. Everyone looks at the head in shock. Then, the rest of the Intergang members pulls out their guns to shoot the mercenary down. Gun shots echo all over the warehouse. Louis, however, already knows what's about to happen next. She closes her eyes but can still here the screams as the mans cuts them all down.
When she opens her eyes, the next thing she sees is the mercenary wiping his sword while a dozen or so corpses lie on the floor.
'Why?' she blurted out.
'It's what I was paid to do', he answers.
She keeps her mouth shut and after a while, the man continues.
'I was paid to take care of the people who put the bounty on your head. You were just bait'.
Louis doesn't know what to say to that. But as the man begins walking away, she manages to gain enough courage for one more question. 'Who are you really?'
'You don't need to know'.

After some time, Toji manages to find his way to his employer's meeting spot, a skyscraper with a large bright L hanging over it. Everyone else is gone for the night, making the place look desolate. Inside, he sees a young woman waiting for him.
'This way please. Mr. Luthor's been expecting you'.
Toji follows the woman, watching her while still keeping an eye on his surroundings. The two enter an elevator and Toji notices that they stop on the top floor, floor 180. They all just want to look down on everyone else, don't they, he thinks.
They then enter a room where Toji finds his employer, Lex Luthor, looking over the large window. 'You've completed your mission admirably. Well done, sir. Or should I say Mr. Meta Killer'.
Toji grunts at the name. He isn't normally bothered by it but having the name spoken by his employer is making Toji grit his teeth.
'Although, if you ask me, your methods could use a bit more decorum', says the bald man with a grin.
'Good thing I didn't ask'.
'Touché'. The man then nods and the woman next to Toji hands him another briefcase. 'From what I understand, Mr. Manheim also gave you a briefcase'.
'Yeah, I did hand the reporter to him after all'.
'I see. All's well that ends well. Now, if you don't mind, I've got other matters to attend to. Mercy, if you will'.
Toji takes the briefcase and follows the woman out. There was something different about those two and he could smell it. Still, it was no longer his problem. Toji feeds the briefcase to his cursed spirit before hiding it in his stomach. 'Time to head home'.

Lex watches the man leave. Then as the door closes, the hologram of Vandal Savage appears in front of him. 'Quite an interesting man, isn't he?', says Lex to the brute.
'Doesn't matter. Manheim is dead and that's all that matters', responds the brute.
'Indeed, now that we've dealt with our little inconvenience, things should be able to progress much more smoothly'.
'The Light will be most pleased'. Vandal Savage nods at him before disappearing.
Lex then turns to his computer and play the footage of the mercenary fighting Supergirl. 'I wasn't expecting much from you. But now that you've proven yourself-'. Lex smiles.
