A.N.
Hi all. Thanks for all the positive (and quirky) responses you've given me so far. A lot of these comments have given me ideas on improving the story and the overall direction I'll be taking. Please continue to tell me things I can improve. And feel free to support me with power stones and/or some good vibes.
Cheers and enjoy.

Kara busily fixes her hair to look like the messy bun she always wear. Although, it started out as a way of camouflaging herself, as time went on, she ended up falling in love with the nerdy look. She puts on her thick glasses and smiles as she looks in the mirror.
'You're playing a dangerous game here, Kara', says Barbara who watches from the other side of the phone.
'I know. But it's the only chance we've got. Not even Batman with his super detective skills could find anything on the guy. I literally just bought him pie and I already know his name'. Kara didn't bother to tell the fact that it took her half a day of ranting. She knew Toji was irritated the whole time they were together but she thought the guy deserved a bit of social torture. He knocked her out, after all. A bit of suffering is the least he could do.
'It's not super detective skills. And we're not even sure it's his real name. I checked all known database and I haven't found anyone matching his description', says Barbara.
'Nope. He wasn't lying. I checked his heartbeat, his sweat, pupil dilation, pretty much all the stuff you taught me about and he passed them all'.
'Fine. It's a start, I guess. Just be careful. I sent Grayson to tail you in case things go wrong'.
Kara raises her brow at that. 'Grayson? No longer on the first name basis. You broke up or something?'
'Shut up. Bye'. Barbara ends the call on her end making Kara chuckle.
After the beatdown she took that day, Kara started doing some reading on the Meta Killer. According to Batman's files, the guy had a lot of training, especially against metas. He also used magic, or at the very least, his weapons were. Apparently, Batman managed to examine the bullets left on all his crime scenes. He thought it was nothing special until he brought it to the Justice League and Zatarra told everyone that the item was cursed.
That easily explained the feeling she had when he pulled out the kung-fu nunchuck thing. Also, she remembered trying to break it but couldn't.
Finally, Batman suspected that he had some grudge against all metas even if he's most likely a meta himself. After all, you don't just survive a punch from Supergirl unless you had certain enhancements of your own. That day in the alley, Kara remembers using quite a bit of her strength to throw the guy. By all account, he should have been inches from death if not dead already.
That's why it amazes her how the mercenary easily walked it off. Had you used his real abilities, neither of her friends (and Red Arrow) would have survived the fight.
Still, looking at his records, Kara couldn't really hate the guy. Yes, he killed most of them, except for that guy that had both his arms chopped off, but in the end, they all deserved it. They're murderers, rapist, arsonists and all sort of irredeemable psychopaths. As much as she loved her cousin, Kal and the rest of the Justice League were too naïve in thinking that putting villains behind bars is enough to stop them.
Having someone take care of them permanently, even if it's just for money, is something she could easily get behind. Honestly, Kara wouldn't mind getting her hands dirty if it wasn't for the fact that she'd lose Kal, the only real family she has left, in the process.
She sighs and readies herself. Alright, Kara. Time to figure out this supervillain.

It took Kara half an hour of scanning the city before she found her target sitting on a bench in the park while reading a book. She lands just behind a tree, ensuring nobody saw her.
'Okay, Kara. Act natural. Act nerdy. Act like a mess. You got this', she whispers. She pulls out a bunch of books and magazines from her bag and starts walking towards him. She's seen these cliché stuff in movies a bunch of times. It's time to test if they actually work.
She trips herself on his feet. And immediately starts apologizing. She looks at her target and sees his heartbeat increase. Yep. He's irritated already, she thinks. 'Toji, I didn't expect to see you here'. She kneels on the floor and picks up her magazines before intentionally slipping them from her arms, all clumsy like. 'Can you please help me with these?' she says with a pout.
She hears him sigh. The man then kneels next to him and starts picking up her things. He's a gentleman, at least, she thinks. The man helps her up before handing her back her things. 'What are you doing here?' she asks.
Toji shows her the book in his hand. 'Reading. You?'
'Oh, I'm supposed to meet a friend in the library. He's supposed to help me with my work today but he cancelled last minute', she lies. 'Have you been to the Metropolis Library? You should check it out. Wanna come with me?'
Before the man could reject her, Kara takes him by the arm and starts walking.

Toji is more than annoyed. He's irritated. What's more, the girl's scent keeps invading his nose. He doesn't know what it is, but it's enough to add to his current irritation. He grumbles as he walks with Kara, the Supergirl, gripping his arm. The girl is yapping, words coming out of his mouth endlessly. She then looks at him with a wide grin. 'So, you read a lot, huh?' she says, waiting for a response.
'Yeah', he grumbles.
'Same. I like reading too. Back when-' The girl continues to talk, making Toji want to bash his head on a wall. He's tried escaping but the girl clings to her like a cat. Does she know I'm the Meta Killer or is this fate's cruel joke? Is she trying to get back at me, he thinks. What if I just reveal who I really am and fight her? Here and now. But that'll be more of a hassle. Maybe I can knock her out instead.
'We're here', the girl suddenly says.
Toji looks around and realizes he's standing right in front of a library.
'Come on. I'll show you my favorite books' she says as she pulls him inside. Toji grumbles some more before letting the girl pull her.
