Chapter Eighty-Nine: Soundfall I
Seraphina's POV
The bungalow held many memories for Third, so I decided to break the silence so he wouldn't get too absorbed in his loss.
I've studied how he handled sorrow and it was not really good. None of them in that household had the ability to handle strong emotions well.
"It's nice. My kind of place."
I noticed he smiled, and I hoped it wasn't because he knew it was a lie, and I just said that to make him feel better.
There was a van by the gate, half-filled. Third kept me behind him, but I stretched on my toes to see the young rogues leaving. My eyes locked in with one taking some chairs out.
He looked away, of course, because he didn't know me, but my eyes kept following him. That dude—I knew him from my past life.
His vibrant dyed orange hair and the black choker on his neck. He had been part of a rock band that had one hit song and then disappeared.
