Chapter 2 - Thugs

Lucy tested out the syringe, letting a small amount of liquid drip from the needle.

"You liar!" I spat, my voice trembling with fury

"Let me teach you something, Lucia," she said with a cold, condescending tone.

"Never give someone what they want if you haven't gotten what you want first. That will turn your value to zero.

Why would they need to fulfill their agreement, then? For some stupid oath? Honor? That's all bullshit.

People move because of desire. And it's simple: power, authority, pleasure. These three are what everyone seeks. Man, woman—they're no different."

A sharp pain assaulted me, followed by a heavy drowsiness that quickly overtook my senses.

"You and your twisted mind... just why?" I managed to whisper before I slipped into unconsciousness.

The first time I met Lucy, I was so happy.

I thought I could finally have a sister to play with, share stories with, and become best friends with. But it was all just an illusion.

My life took a turn for the worse the moment she arrived. Not long after, our parents died in an "accident," and I didn't suspect Lucy at all. The only reason I knew it was her was because she admitted it.

Honestly, it wasn't my fault. Even the brightest in our family didn't realize the truth.

Who would think someone would crash an entire plane filled with passengers just to kill two people? And our parents weren't even the most important people on the plane.

There were government officials who were the real VIPs.

In total, more than a hundred people died, with zero survivors. That was the moment I knew how ruthless Lucy was.

___________

When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying in the corner of an alley, my clothes changed and bandages covering almost all of my body.

The pain was unbearable, but it was nothing compared to the wound in my heart.

I had lost everything: my parents, wealth, status, beauty—everything had disappeared.

Tears started dropping from my eyes, and I began crying nonstop.

'Mom, Dad, I can't even be there for your funerals.'

CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

Lightning rumbled in the air, followed by a heavy downpour. The rain bit through my skin, sending a stinging sensation through my wounds.

But I ignored it all. It was like the sky itself was weeping with me.

I kept crying, letting out all my pent-up frustration.

The stinging sensation somehow made me feel a bit more comfortable, like it was an outlet for the crushing pain in my heart.

The betrayal, the loss, the grieve.

Time passed, and the sky cleared from the dark clouds, but not for me. My heart was still filled with so much pain.

"Hey girl, what are you doing here alone?"

"You're soaked; how about going with us? We can help warm you up."

"Why do we need to go, bro? Just look at her. She's wearing a mask with that body.

I'm sure she's deep in trouble and a beauty. Let's just do it here; it's not like anyone will come."

I raised my head and saw three thugs ogling at me.

Anger surged within me.

My hand moved around, searching for some kind of weapon.

Then I found something—it was cold and hard. I didn't know what it was, but that didn't matter.

I grasped it and dashed forward, trying to hit one of them in the head, but the moment I tried to stand, my body buckled under its own weight.

My legs were weak; I fell on all fours to the ground.

One of the thugs then pulled my hand, forcing me to stand up. He licked his lips.

"You've got a large chest. Let me check if it's real or not."

A wave of disgust washed over me. I tried to throw a punch or kick, but it was pointless—my body wouldn't respond.

Thankfully, I wasn't completely out of options. I released my grasp, letting the wrench in my hand fall to the man's foot.

"Argh! You slut!"

The man grimaced in pain, then released his grip on me.

My body faltered, but I managed to recover just enough. I pivoted and ran away like my life depended on it.

"Don't let her go!"

Loud footsteps splashed through the muddy water as I ran as fast as I could, but weakness started gripping me again. I almost fell a few times, barely able to keep moving.

The two thugs were closing the distance between us. Hearing their footsteps, I turned my gaze, my heart shaking with fear and anger.

'If I knew this was going to happen, I should have just chosen death!

Or is this one of your plans, Lucy!? You cursed devil!

Even if I die, I will make sure to haunt you to death!'

A determination started to form in my mind—I wouldn't accept being violated by these three trash. Death was a better choice, and I planned to bring them with me.

But just before I could execute that plan, fate had different ideas for me.

BAM!

I crashed into something—or more correctly, someone. My body rolled on the ground, and I somehow ended up face-to-face with a man.

I didn't recognize him, but somehow, he felt familiar.

His piercing blue eyes looked at me coldly.

"Oh look, this slut already found herself another man! Hey, you! Go away if you don't want trouble." I hear one of the thug screamed.
