Yvette closed the door behind her, letting out a long breath as the tension from the party began to melt away.
The house was quiet, the warm glow from the hallway light casting a soft, welcoming shadow.
As she stepped into the living room, she found Zeke sitting on the sofa, his expression unreadable as her gazed at her.
"What's wrong?. She asked a she embraced him, sitting on his laps.
"You're late". He frowned.
"The event went on longer than expected". She replied and pouted. "There was some drama, but nothing I couldn't handle."
"Hmm". His eyes narrowed slightly. "I saw the photos, why did you dance with him?".
"Is this jealousy, Zeke?". Yvette grinned , peeking at his expression as he turned his face away from her but she could still make out his tinged ears.
